Autos For Less

I never do this but UNFORTUNATELY the experience I had was not what I had hoped for. I walked in and everything was so cool vibe and all the music. I only waited like 1 minute before the young guy came and asked if I needed help. (Quick service) 🙂 Yes, I need to make a Smog apt. He said we do walk ins. I was like yay! Everything was great, he said 10 min and I’d be done. I read a book and chilled and felt really happy with my service. Even the older guy came out to assure everyone had been helped. Then he came out and said my car didn’t pass, I was like darn, “sad face”, I said, “okay thank you.” I then asked what I should do to get it prepared to pass. The elderly guy was kinda rude (I let it go.) “Google the drive cycle for you car” , he said. I said “okay”, I didn’t understand what that meant. So I asked him “I was told it’s 100 miles should I start driving that again?” He said firmly and rudely, “listen to me, Google it!, every car is different.” (It was rushed and rude) (I let it go.) He then asked me if i had unlpugged the battery latley I told him a few weeks ago and I was told to drive for 100miles then come in. He then proceeded to charge me, I paid without hesitation. I figured he did his job, and I didn’t do mine. (I just didn’t drive it enough)… while I was paying he began to help the lady behind me. (No problem there)… The lady behind me though he offered to check her car before smogging. To assure it passes. Now he never offered me this option, cause the young guy was the one who took the car back… however neither did the young guy. Nor did I know I was supposed to ask. I’m new to this, every time I’ve taken my car in I’ve never had an issue. I thought they do whatever is needed and its I didn’t know what that all entailed, I had no idea. I called back after finding out they are supposed to plug it in prior to running the smog. When I called I told him I had just been in there and I had a question as my car didn’t pass smog. However, I just learned that it’s supposed be plugged in to check, before running the smog. idk which one I spoke to. He said “it’s not my job to check that unless you ask prior.” I said sir “I apologize I’m new to this, and I didn’t know I was supposed to ask prior as you asked the lady behind me before doing hers.” he said rudely “what’s your point!” I asked if maybe since I didn’t know i was supposed to ask, if maybe the fee I paid today could go to when it’s ready to smog, he told me “no I will charge you again it’s not my job to tell you or ask you. We only check if you ask us.” (Completely rude tone) As I said again I was unaware of this. I idk why your being rude sir, I’m just trying to figure things out. He said “if you don’t like it take your bussiness else where I have three people here to help!” I said okay sir. As there was no solution to be made. So I hung up. It’s just unethical to take advantage of someone who doesn’t understand. He asked the lady behind me about checking hers to assure it’s ready to pass. Idk why I was seen as different. So I’m out $50 and now learned that it is not a place I’ll take my bussiness to again. Lesson learned!

The first time I went they were a little rude, but also very cold and no people skills. Decided to give a second chance... More of the same if not worse. With all the people of color leaving bad reviews, it definitely makes one wonder. Regardless... Any business that lacks any customer service skills shouldn't be a business. I won't be going back. I'd recommend like others have... If you're a person of color please go somewhere else. Update: Looks like they're just as rude to white people. Maybe not racist and just equally rude to all. So my new recommendation is that no one go here. I'll update again after I give Smog Pros a chance. Update: Smog Pros is awesome! Please go to them. Night and day experience.

I moved from Tehachapi about a year and a half ago. For nearly four or five years, my Challenger would have issues passing smog, because of the check engine light would not go off. I payed auto shops in Tehachapi close to a $1,000 yearly to "fix" my vehicle. Only for the light to come back on weeks later after it would finally pass. It was incredible frusterating, because the vehicle would never break down... With some sort of serendipity was extremely fortunate to have the help of Auto's for less early last year. The Father and Son duo, are a team. They might not tell you what you want to hear at first, BUT by golly, its the truth so just listen... They fixed my check engine light the beginning of last year, and it has NEVER CAME BACK ON! This is the second year in a row my car has passed smog with flying colors!!! I have the up most respect in this shops knollege and work of vehicles. Thank you Autos for Less for not taking advantage of a single women knew to your community, with not much money. Thank you for being a honest, genuine, hard working shop. I truley was fortunate, and greatful to be a very satisfied customer. I like to say i vote with my money, and I vote for Auto's for less. I love Autos For Less for many reasons. But just to save everyones time, They are EXTREMELY Professional, Knowledgeable, Helpful, and FAST AS HECK!!! As far as pricing, they are more than fair and flexable, and please consider that I did the research of all competitors in town and Autos For Less is the absolute best in Ridgecrest,Ca. When i do go to them for my auto needs 98% of the time the business owner himself helps me, and other customers. Personally that speaks VOLUMES about his service and business ethics, in my humble opinion. So personally I absolute recommend Autos For less to any and everyone when car stuff comes up. Cant help it, with such awesome customer service, and speed in which they operate, its a no brainer. Thanks for reading, hope this helps you spend your hard earned money with a small business that deserves you as a client.
