To arrive for a simple oil change and have to wait over 3 hrs is beyond me. Appointments are scheduled way in advanced. Stop over booking. Oil changes should be painless not 3 hr waits..terrible experience. Will never return to this location again. I have serviced my car in LIC and further north and never have i ever experienced customer service like this. Car is in on time at 11:08.. appt is at 1120 and to have a rep to you that they are going to lunch at 1230 and it will not be looked at until when they return is mind boggling. So everyone takes break at same time? I would give 0 stars if I could

You bring your car in at 9am and it doesn’t get pulled into the shop until after 4pm. No regard for people’s time. It’s like they’re doing you a favor. Receptionist was short and said “we don’t give time estimates over the phone” even though they had already done diagnostics and identified the issue was a breather valve. They could’ve told us to bring it in the next day if they weren’t going to start on it until tomorrow. What’s the point of scheduling an appointment if your car sits there for an entire day? Nobody has the time for that. Their service managers also don’t return calls so don’t bother trying. Just awful service. *update 2 days later I get a notification email that I had missed my service appointment. Car was dropped of at 9am and checked in by a receptionist. Text notification says at 4pm: “Good afternoon, I am still waiting for the car to get pulled back into the shop, I will keep you posted --GIUSEPPE COPPOLA Bayside Volkswagen” Wife calls service advisor at end of day 2 for an update. He said that they had still not completed the diagnostic for the check engine light. We had previously brought the vehicle in November for a check engine light which took 2 days at the service center to assess. This recent visit was to install the breather valve we had to wait for since Nov 6. So now we’re just waiting in limbo. Wife dropped off rental today because we simply can’t be without the car this weekend. It’s not Bayside VWs fault for having to wait for the part. It’s definitely their fault for improperly managing appointment schedules and forecasting duration of service. We’ve got kids and jobs just like most other people and can’t just open ended have our car in bayside for however long they feel like it takes to replace a part. Also it is clear that they are confused and disorganized. Do not recommend.

I have been waiting, at least so far, 6 weeks for a supposed 1-2 week shipping quote for a part... I would NEVER work with this company again. If a part gets lost in shipping from FedEx, I can understand that not being your fault. However, it has been lost SINCE November 1st, and nothing was being done about it until I called FedEx MYSELF! That is terrible customer service! I called both the Bayside location as well as the service location, and I left a callback number, but no one has gotten back to me about the resolution of my predicament. I, very thankfully, have been working with an outside mechanic who has actually been responding to my questions with answers instead of "we'll call you back when we know about your situation!" At this current 6 week mark I STILL do not have my Tiguan, and the new shipping information is not available to even find out if the part has reached America, so there IS NO END IN SIGHT. Not having my car for Thanksgiving was definitely the cherry on top of my situation. Update: my part had to be reordered on November 22nd. I was told, again, that my part would be here in 1 to 2 weeks. Today is 1 week, and they can not give me a tracking number or any new information. I'm not understating why this is happening, and no one is doing anything about it...

Would not recommend Bayside VW because of their service department. One star should be given but the sales department was very nice. they recommended haldex service at 30k service( my vehicle had 26k. They charged over $800 for the 30k service with the haldex service included in the above price. I checked the air filter and cabin filter after service. Cabin filter looked like it was never changed and engine . The oil was black like rubber when changed and I had it done at 34k before the 10k they recommended. In their defense the shop where I had the oil changed said that it’s normal for the oil to be darker in color because it’s a V6. Had oil changed on v6 before and it was not black. Was reading online about this so it either they didn’t changed it or they didn’t drain properly before adding new oil. Anyhow will never use them again because they don’t respect customer’s time or the $$$ they get for a service that should be no less than perfect for all vw vehicles. Also at one of the services I told them the windshield wipers are not functioning properly as after pulling the lever you could hear the motor, the wipers would start moving and after than the water would start to come out. No other car I had was functioning this way as all dirt would be scratched to the windshield before water would splash. THEY STATED THAT WAS NORMAL. All other car brands the water comes out first then the wipers start to move making that windshield last longer without tiny scratches from dust and dirt. The last part doesn’t affect my rating as this is vw not the service department. After purchasing the vehicle in October 2021 went for a ski trip. Tried the rear heated seats and they wouldn’t warm up. Took the car to the dealer and they said it wasn’t plugged in the module under the dashboard. This car came out the factory gates without being checked?

Dropped my car off for an airbag recall, with an appointment. Was told they did not have the part and had to order it and keep the car overnight - no problem. Get a call the next day asking if I know that my hood “won’t open”. Then was told I will need a “$189 diagnostic check” LOL!!! Want to know why the hood won’t open? The plastic latch inside the car that releases the hood, is cracked. It fell right off in my hand. I replaced it for $35. They were sure counting on me being some dumb blonde who doesn’t know what a diagnostic check is. NEVER, EVER, AGAIN. I hope you are all exposed for the scum you are one day because this wasn’t the first awful experience, but one of the worst and most insulting, and also the last. SEE MORE LIES BELOW: I have NEVER had any hood issues or repairs on this vehicle, nor did I state so. Since you’re so keen on responding to all these terrible reviews, why don’t you explain exactly how you run a “diagnostic check” on a hood? It’s a piece of metal. Did the hood release not fall off in the technician’s hand, the way it did in mine? Why was that not mentioned? You’re a joke and you thought you could scam me like an idiot. Goodbye 👋🏻
