Kris Beswick is very a knowledgeable and dedicated and thorough mechanic. He is known and trusted by the automotive community in this area and handles tough jobs others cannot be bothered to do. He is an honest family man. He usually has his hands in an engine compartment, so it is not always easy to get him on the phone, but he responds to texts. Kris took on a complex overhaul of our 1950 Ford F1 and we highly recommend him.

I was in Santa Barbara last week visiting the family for Christmas, I live in Phoenix and on my way there the check ingen lite came out my chevy tahoe kept losing power however we made it to cali, I went to 3 different shops in Santa Barbara and no one had time to check my tahoe, on my way back home I found Kris working on a bus at parking lot I asked him for help and he was super nice fix my tahoe in 10 minutes, I can't thank you enough!!!

Kris worked on my imported Land Rover Defender about 10 years ago. He came to my home and took care of business. Super honest and if I ever need work again on a vehicle purchased used, he'll be my first call.

DO NOT HIRE THIS BUSINESS!! We hired Beswick in May 2023 to repair the power steering on our RV. He determined we needed a new gear box and quoted us $4100 for the repair. He claimed to have experience working on RVs and to be familiar with this repair. He also assured us the repair could be done mobile because we couldn’t get it to his shop without power steering. He wanted a deposit of $3000 to order the part. We paid him and then heard nothing for several weeks while “waiting for the part to ship.” Finally in July we contacted him to make sure the repair could be done for a trip we had planned at the end of the month. He claimed the part “just arrived” and it was no problem. But it was unclear if he was working on it or what was going on. We got to the point where we had to text him every day to get information and he continued to respond that he was working on it and chipping away. Finally, he claimed that he was close and just needed to take it to his shop for “finishing touches” but a week later the RV was still parked in storage where it started. We then moved our trip because he couldn’t deliver when he promised. He then promised Friday but it wasn’t ready, then suggested Sunday (the day we were leaving) and ultimately said he would work on it all Friday night to have it ready on Saturday. At 11:30am on Saturday he said he needed until Sunday. We checked on it and it was clear he had not done any work on either Friday or Saturday morning but wanted more time! Finally my husband sat at the storage lot and supervised him all day but he seemed to come and go with no real explanation. We then looked under the RV and found that the old part had NEVER been replaced. When we reached out to Beswick he admitted that he didn’t replace it, he rebuilt it. Not only was that not what he agreed to do, it was clear the gear box was never touched AT ALL. He did not replace or repair the gearbox he said needed to be replaced!!! He then claimed that the RV had an engine light come on because we started the engine while he was working on it and now he needed to order more parts because the timing was off. And it wouldn’t be ready anytime soon. So we had to change our vacation plans, felt completely ripped off by this scam artist, lost months of use of our RV, and we are starting all over having no idea what he has or hasn’t done to it. The only good news is that he ultimately refunded our “deposit” that he obviously didn’t use to buy the necessary part. I wouldn’t let this guy repair a bicycle even if he offered to do it for free. Dishonest and incompetent.
