Big Brand Tire & Service

It was late on Saturday and I dropped of a flat tire. The had me in their system and honored their warranty to fix my tire for free. They got it in and were done in 20 minutes! What a great experiencw!

Scheduling for an appointment was simple and easy! The quality of the work done was satisfactory. The customer service and appreciation that I used to receive for many years was absent at this visit. I was very disappointed but perhaps the customer service rep was having a bad day.

Total scammers - I took my car in because it was making a loud noise on the drivers side. I had an idea already that it was probably the wheel bearing. They confirmed that I was right and recommended that I get both sides done. They replaced both front wheel bearings and did an alignment which I wasn't aware I would have to pay an extra fee for. They did not inform me that an alignment was necessary after replacing the wheel bearings. After spending $900+ on this repair, my car began to drift to the right. With the holidays it took me 3 weeks to bring my car back in, but I told them the issues had been occurring since they worked on my car. They confirmed the alignment was off, but said it had to be from a car accident or a large pot hole. I told them I had neither been in an accident nor hit a large pot hole in the last 3 weeks. They continued to say that was the only possible cause and that they could not repair it for free because it was not their fault. They also said it was not a simple repair and that I would need to complete replace a part for another $500+. They also said I should do both sides to keep them even which would be $750. I took my car to another mechanic and they said Big Brand put on the wrong size part which caused the misalignment. They fixed the issue for me for under $200. I do need another part replaced, but the total cost will still be under $500. Do not trust this place.

My wife had a minor accident and needed two new front tires. This place overcharged her for a set of low quality tires you could get at Walmart for a third of the price. Unfortunately she didn't know the difference until I looked it up for her afterward, something they probably took advantage of (they insisted that they were high quality tires, which they are most certainly not. They're off brand junk). Never had this issue at the Santa Barbara locations, they seem to treat their customers fairly regardless of whether they're knowledgeable or not. Just something to be aware of for anyone that goes here.
