Definitely a solid 3 stars and purely because of communication. I called and spoke with staff regarding exactly what was wrong with my car. I was given preliminary quotes for the parts of the job that they were able to and told I would be called once they parted out the rest of the job. I dropped the car off early Monday morning for a tire install, serpentine belt replacement and an alignment, with diagnostic for issues with my front end. I received my first call four hours after I dropped the car off letting me know my car was complete and ready to go. I told them they hadn't done everything I asked as I was told even just the basics with no diagnostic was going to be almost $400 but I was told I owed less than $300. I went in to the establishment on Tuesday morning to find out what had gone wrong and was informed the gentleman who processed my drop off didn't put anything down about the diagnostic or the alignment. So I asked them to complete the job I had originally asked for. Three hours later a new gentleman called me and he was absolutely oblivious to anything I had been going through. He asked if I had any issues with my front end that I knew of, which was CRAZY because that's the reason for the diagnostic. He gave me some vague parts and incomplete prices and a rough idea when my car might now be ready. I explained I was intent on fixing my car immediately and if he wasn't able to provide the services required, I would simply pay my balance and take my car to a shop that wanted to fix my car properly. The gentleman called me back an hour later with a detailed quote, but again suggested that the rear hub/bearing could wait but I should consider replacing it sooner than later. I again had to reiterate NOW was the sooner and I wanted a FULL quote. The lack of communication between departments, the inability to properly document work led to my being out my rental an extra day, all because they didn't do the alignment initially when they installed my new tires. If they had done the alignment, they would have seen the bad cv joints. It ended up costing me almost $2k worth of work and only the older gentleman, Ron, offered a single apology. No accountability, no remorse at my extra costs, no care for the fact they messed up. Even now, the day after I picked it up, she's still pulling to the right which makes me think an alignment that they definitely charged me for, was never done because they clearly never wanted to do one in the first place. After all that, the only reason I'll ever go back is because my parts and labor are under warranty. My only caution is to be mindful. Make sure you're clear and concise in what you want done. The labor portion wasn't the issue, it was a pure communication issue between the service department and the labor department because the service department heard what they wanted to hear, not what I said.

Very satisfied with the service I received at Bolton-James. Hayden was extremely helpful in helping me order exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to surprise my husband with a lift, rims, and new tires for his truck. A part that was ordered was wrong and therefore the project was extended an extra day. Bolton-James was super helpful in providing a vehicle to drive in the meantime so I didn’t have to miss a day of work. I can’t express enough how thankful I am for the treatment I received during this process. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Had a fantastic experience at Bolton-James. I was searching for a shop that could mount and balance tires with nitrogen for a reasonable price. Bolton-James give a very compelling value pitch when I called and made an appointment. When I showed up for the appointment, I double checked the quoted price and associated services, and she told me that disposal of old tires would be an additional charge. When I said that I was quoted as that being included, she took the charge off with no argument. While I appreciated the charge being taken off, I appreciated even more a shop that keeps its word. Very happy with the results. My car was given back within the time frame with services performed perfectly. I will absolutely return to Bolton-James for my maintenance needs. Highly recommended.

I bought 4 new Michelin tires because Toyota of Greer said I need new tires because my tires had dry rot so I look around for the best prices for Michelin tires and Bolton and James had the best prices. Also the sensor tire light kept coming on even after I bought new tires. I took the car back the next day one of the maintenance men said I need new tire sensor on the right side so they fixed the sensor light. Thanks to Bolton and James for a very good job.

Been a long time customer with BJT&A. Always a cordial welcome. Up front staff, very courteous, polite and professional, checking you in and out. Mechanics/ Technicians, always comes to you in the lobby, if their is an issue, you need to be made aware of, found during your initial service request. They are on top of condition of tires, brakes, AC, engine tune-up, all fluids, etc., that might need to be addressed now or in the near future. They strive to make sure, your safe and trouble free, between services.*****5 star auto service center, with very reasonable pricing. I recommend them, as I have to others. A satisfied customer!
