Chan’s transmission and auto care went above and beyond in making sure my vehicle was taken care of. The whole team is extremely knowledgeable on everything and knew exactly what to look for in diagnosing my Chevy Silverado. They are also extremely transparent in itemizing the recommended servicing, parts, and labor. The truck now drives better than it ever has, and I would 100% recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reputable car mechanic. I will undoubtedly return when my truck needs additional work! THANK YOU!

I came to visit my mom. She lives in Greer, South Carolina. My sister and I were coming back from an event and my car just started literally like jumping all over the road! And not knowing who to take the car to because I don’t live there was scary !!! Thank goodness my sister did know someone to take it to and she recommended Chanz Transmission. What an absolute wonderful experience Kim is fabulous! Clay and Joey did a wonderful job repairing my car, making sure that it was safe for my mom and I travel back to Alabama. They are very kind, personal, professional and prompt! Especially love the way they send every single detail in a text message or an email! I would recommend everyone use them!

It’s the small things that gains major respect and trust. I will keep this short and sweet. I’m a hard critic so for me to write a review is huge. The biggest shout out to the whole team! Kim, Joey, and clay! You guys went way above and beyond! Keeping me updated and making sure that my challanger is completely fixed and runs brand new. From this experience forward, all my future vehicle problems will be fixed by you guys. Words can’t express the appreciation and trust I have with you guys. Thank you so much for everything and being professional at its finest. You guys are the freaking best!

TLDR: This whole experience is lacking the genuine care and concern that I would’ve expected from an independent business. I towed my car to this shop because it had a blinking check engine light. They charged me $135 to diagnose the car, which wouldn’t be a problem if they hadn’t turned the engine light off, clearing the code that I needed in order to get my car fixed at the Hyundai dealership. Apparently they thought the light would come right back on, but it’s now been a month and the light has yet to return. Now I’m stuck driving around in a car with an engine ready to fail at any moment because the Hyundai dealership won’t look at it without that light. Just google “Hyundai P1326” and you’ll understand my concern. Full Review: I wish I could say I had a better experience. My mom has brought her cars here religiously over the years. She felt this was a trustworthy shop and recommended I have my car towed here when my engine light began blinking. I was hesitant but she seemed very confident in their service and I didn’t have much time to argue. She did leave out the $135 diagnosis charge, however. Had I known that, they definitely wouldn’t have been my first choice…The next day they diagnosed my car: engine damage. “Only Hyundai can fix that”. They recommend I take it to a Hyundai dealer. If you’ll recall, I had the vehicle towed there so I ask if it’s okay to drive. They say to drive it STRAIGHT to the dealership, it’s not that far. Okay cool. I go to pick up the car and notice they’ve cleared the code out and the engine light is gone. I get to the Hyundai dealership and he tells me he can't do anything without the code. I show him the print out from Chan’s with the code on it; he says he has to scan it himself..He says they shouldn’t have done that, any respectable shop would’ve told you to take it to the dealership from the jump. He doesn’t outright claim I was taken advantage of but it was heavily implied. Now I’m stuck driving a car that’s ready to break down, waiting for an engine light to come back on. Pissed that I spent $135 to be stuck in this situation, I called Chan’s to cue them in and see if there’s anything they can do to help get the light back on. This is when I began to sincerely regret bringing my car here. I asked why they cleared it and apparently, Joey took it upon himself. “Thought the code would’ve come back before you even made it to the dealership”…Well it didn’t. They recommended I just sit in idle until it comes back if I don’t feel safe driving it, but couldn't even say how long that would take. I tell Kym I think it’s unfair that she took my money and turned off the code, especially given the fact that she told me she’s having the same issue with her car..waiting for a code so she can take her car to the dealership. You would think she understands my frustration but instead responds, “without the diagnosis you would’ve never known. We did all the research”. Clearly not enough. An easy google search of the code and Hyundai brings up a litany of articles and discussion posts that outline the issue, Hyundai’s resolution, AND TO NOT TURN OFF THE CODE. It’s laughable to tell me you did me such a great service letting me know to take it to Hyundai. I can use Google. I came here for car expertise, something Kym clearly doesn’t have and I question whether Joey does. I’ve had this in the drafts, hoping maybe everything would resolve itself. The light would come back, I’d get it fixed, this can be just another small tragedy of life, but it’s been A MONTH and the light still isn’t on! I get it, you thought it would’ve come back immediately, but now knowing it hasn’t and that you’re the reason I’m in this bind, would you please ask yourself is it really right to charge $135 for your employees to use google and turn off an engine light code for an issue they knew they couldn’t fix?

Chance came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. Quick to find the problem went through everything with me got it done quickly and I have had no problems since. It's been a few weeks and I will certainly be returning their for all my vehicles maintenance and work.
