Beware of Dudley’s Auto Repair – Overpriced, Dishonest, and Untrustworthy If you value your hard-earned money and want honest service, stay far away from Dudley’s Auto Repair. My experience here was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to warn others about their shady practices. Here’s what happened: On 1/16/2025, I brought my car to Dudley’s after it wouldn’t start. A family friend recommended the shop, so I decided to give them a chance. Dudley diagnosed an oil leak and charged me $125 just to clean the leak in the serpentine belt area. He kept my car overnight to “determine the source of the leak.” The next day, he claimed the leak was coming from the front crank seal and charged me the following: $11 to replace the crank seal, $32.99 to replace the serpentine belt, $66 to replace the harmonic balancer, and A staggering $250 for labor (removing and installing these parts), claiming the repair came with a 6-month warranty. I paid over $500 and trusted that my car was fixed. Less than a week later, on 1/20/2025, my car wouldn’t start again—the exact same issue as before. I had to jump-start it and return to Dudley’s, thinking the 6-month warranty would cover it. Instead, Dudley claimed I now needed a new battery! Here’s what he charged me for the battery: $228.58 for a Duralast 51R-DLG Battery (625 CCA). I later verified with AutoZone that this battery costs $209.99 (including the refundable core deposit), meaning Dudley marked it up for no reason. On top of that, he initially demanded $50 for labor just to install the battery. After I refused, we settled on $20 for what was basically a 5-minute job. The final bill for the battery replacement came to $270.64. He even taxed the labor and overcharged me for the battery, despite already ripping me off on parts and labor for the initial repair. To make matters worse, he didn’t properly address the original issue (my car not starting) when I brought it in the first time. Instead, he nickel-and-dimed me at every step, adding unnecessary charges and taking advantage of my trust. I’ve now spent nearly $800 at Dudley’s in less than a week, and my confidence in this shop is completely destroyed. Dudley’s Auto Repair is not an honest business. They prey on unsuspecting customers with inflated prices, unnecessary repairs, and poor workmanship. If you want fair pricing and reliable service, go elsewhere. Don’t let this thief take advantage of you like he did to me.

A joke of service. My thanksgiving leftovers lasted longer than that transmission. 🤷🏾‍♂️which they made me pay for 2 more times 💀☕️but broke under 2000 rpms. Also brought another car for a transmission also wrote me off again. Had to get two transmissions also didn't last had to go to another shop to get another one. The parts are terrible and the people that installed should atlest youtube it 🤷🏾‍♂️ or atlest read a book to install it properly, worse is the owner he is just money hungry cause how he said i had warranty, but I still have to pay the math was not mathing. Under 30days but still have to pay it was really like 2 day before it had to be limped to the shop💀.

man who "runs" shop and answer lacks customer service skills. Rushed me off the phone, I asked if it was any that could assist since to a busy and told he has to help the people physical in shop. I said understand can I get someone else or can someone call me he still insisted he is busy then he finally answered and said he can't help me now and hung up. I live in the area and have been serviced there before never again. I will go the Hempstead Auto near by instead, the staff is larger and customer service is handled by a receptionist.

Very good service. Dudley knows his business. I have been a customer on that auto repair for many years. They installed a suspension lift kit, struts and new tires; it came out great!!! Thanks Dudley and crew for the excellent service and work.

Called and Spoke with the owner over the phone looking for information regarding repairs to my vehicle. The owner was very rude and unprofessional. Stated "we don't give quotes over the phone" and hung up on me. Glad he saved me the trouble of patronizing his business and giving him my hard earned money. This is not how you deal with customers or new clients at that. Five thumbs down.
