First time customer, Zach does phenomenal work and he really pays attention to detail. He's one of the most genuine and honest mechanics ive ever dealt with and he left me confident that the job was actually done right.

I hate having to leave bad reviews, especially for local companies. But the owner of this shop must know this one is coming. At the very least, he is dishonest and will nickel and dime you and milk everything out of you if you aren't a professional mechanic yourself and can tell him when things aren't necessary (I'll expand on this below as well). At worst, he is negligent and would not accept responsibility for the damage he caused. 1. Took a car in to get new brakes and rotors. Shimmy in the steering wheel was the only symptom. Zero other issues. Seems simple right? New brakes. New rotors. Easy-peasy. Nope. He said he needed to sandblast the calipers too (not a cheap process). We said ok fine whatever, thinking that was the extent of it. 2. At completion, he somehow was able to figure out a way to charge us $1300 to simply have new brakes and rotors installed on a Toyota sedan. Pretty impressive honestly (in the worst possible way - will break down the nickel and diming later). We weren't happy, but whatever. 3. Now the real issue at stake here. Within a few days, we began noticing a new issue with the brakes that most definitely did not exist before. I posted a video of the issue to an auto mechanic related Reddit. They said it seemed like a speed sensor/ABS sensor was damaged or faulty - which is interesting, considering this mechanic just got finished dismantling the entire braking system a few days prior. Quite a coincidence, no? 4. Returned the car and informed him that he caused this issue - it did not exist before and he literally just got done working on the precise area of the sensor in the car. Not only did he deny that he caused this issue, he charged us $300 and 6 labor hours to diagnose something I was able to catch on video within a matter of minutes. He would not release the car until we paid the $300 in diagnostic fees. At this point there was no way we were letting him touch the car any further. (Reddit speculates that maybe he negligently beadblasted the calipers while still attached to the speed sensor. This is speculation though, there are plenty of ways that he could have damaged the sensor). 5. I ended up posting all of this to the auto mechanic reddit. There were hundreds of mechanics across the country that chimed in on his work. Here are some of the reasons to avoid Great Deals Auto Care based on the feedback of the mechanics: *He will nickel and dime you. A lot. To break it down more: 1. Diagnostic fees are not rolled into the repair fees that other mechanics will waive if you perform the repair there. 2. He charged us to remove the rust from new rotors (this was the most outrageous part to the other mechanics - they simply couldnt believe he charged for this). 3. He charges a 4% credit card fee, otherwise its cash only. Not many people have exactly $1327.29 or whatever it came out to in cash, so that leaves us with a card. Reddit pointed out that the most expensive credit card from a merchant standpoint, American Express, doesnt even charge that much for their swipe fee, so this shop is making money on you for simply using a credit card (MAKING money, not just breaking even on the swipe fee). 4. He's among the more expensive repair facilities, even in HCOL areas. Not THE most, but up there. Numerous shops around the country said they would have done the work for quite a bit cheaper and were pretty surprised that a rural Ohio shop would charge so much. So to sum up: Took the car in for new brakes and rotors. It costed me $1600 to leave the facility with new brakes and rotors on a Toyota sedan. Actually unbelievable. But now I have a broken speed sensor caused by either the mistake, or the negligence (...or perhaps intentional?) of Great deals Auto Care.

In response to your message about me being “clearly mistaken”. To be clear, my review is being 100% honest. I have an understanding of what was on my car when it was brought it. It also was only there for a few days. It was not delayed due the pandemic. Also, when I brought up the gouges, not scratches, on the side of my car that somehow got there when it was under YOUR care, not one of your employees came to look at the car. They were very rude to me and acted like I should have never noticed new marks on my car simply because it is old. I am fully aware of every mark on my car before bringing it in to your shop. They were fresh gouges. Not scratches. That is why I wrote the review that I did and you should no longer expect business from me, my friends, and my family who has been coming to you for most of our car needs lately. These reviews would not have happened if your staff would have been more concerned for my concerns as a customer and actually came to see what the issue was. And you mentioning my parents, they also know that the gouges, not scratches, on the side of my car were not there before bringing it in. Especially because they were so fresh and had no wear on them. Don’t tell me that I am mistaken when I am not the one making a mistake

Zach is a great mechanic. He is honest fair, he isn't pushy If you don't want to fix things right away, but he will also explain some of the problems that may result if you wait to long. Great guy. I trust him with all of my vehicles.
