Hart Motors & Star smog Station hybrid vehicles

If I could give Hart Motors and Ari Hartoonian a O if I could. I was recommended by AAA tow service to Hart Motors because they were the closest auto repair in the area. After getting an estimate that was posted "FREE" on their website and other advertisements of Hart Motors, I was charged $150.00 for the estimate because I decided NOT to use their services because the estimate that Ari gave was 50% more than what another repair shop quoted. This angered Ari because I would not let him overcharge me. Because Hart Motors advertised free estimates, I requested my $150.00 back. By the way, I only paid the $150.00 because they had my car and refused to release to me without the payment. I was coerced to pay for a service that Hart Motors advertised for free. When I requested my $150.00 back Ari cursed and hung up on me. I then filed a complaint with AAA and with the Bureau of Auto Repairs (BAR) with both agencies siding with me. Afterwards, I filed a small claim lawsuit. Ari was served the subpoena but failed to attend the hearing and I was issued a judgement. Subsuquently, the Court subpoenaed Hart Motors owner, Ari Hartoonian to attend another hearing but again Ari ignored our judicial laws and didn't attend the hearing. The judgement with interest is increasing because of Ari's failure to adhere to the Court's subpoenas. He has until Oct. 24th to pay the judgement or a bench warrant will be issued for his arrest. Consequently, Ari Hartoonian is not the honest broker that everyone is fooled to believe. Please double check any estimate that Ari Hartoonian give you because from past experience he will try to cheat you by giving a higher estimate than other shops. By the way, my car is working perfectly after it was repaired for half the price. I have no idea of the actual work that Hart Motors give to its customers because I have not used the shop but I do know that they will increase the costs for the work. BEWARE and get a second opinion before allowing Hart Motors to work on your car.

My first time there. I stopped by today for a smog test, we talked for an hour. He really seemed very knowledgeable and just as importantly an HONEST man. I am very FORTUNATE to meet someone like him in his field. All the good comments about Ara are true. I will be taking our future services there for sure.

Ara and his team are AWESOME! They fixed my 2013 Chevy Volt (a plug-in hybrid car) for half the price quoted by dealer, and the car is running better than ever before! Having a great auto mechanic is like having a great doctor and I'm so grateful that I finally found an honest, straightforward mechanic! They are a one-stop shop too...full service repairs, smog, tires! I highly recommend Hart Motors for your auto care needs!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Ara at Hart Motors has impressed me and I'm now an excited fan. My four vehicles will now be cared for by the knowledgeable and capable staff of this totally equipped repair facility. Folks, this truly IS the Trustworthy 'One-Stop-Integrity-Shop' you've been looking for. I have both an automotive and engineering background and have repaired/refurbished everything my entire life. I've sought for a 'Professional Center' such as this for many years in the North East San Fernando Valley without success.
