Someone asked me for a mechanic so looked them up on one and noticed their reviews were 4.4 - I was shocked! I’ve been taking my Toyota cars here for 10 years. I cannot tell you how amazing Marv and his son have been! Honest, down to earth and reasonable. They’ve helped me and my family out so many times during car emergencies. They are 5+ stars in my book! Wouldn’t go to any other mechanic!

I have been their customer for over 20 years. Marv (and son Shawn) are incredibly honest and trustworthy. Recently I drove over and dragged a piece of sheet metal on I-94. I had them look underneath the car to look for damage. They saw some scrapes, but said it narrowly missed the fuel line and brake line, and that the inside surfaces of the tires were fine. They could have easily billed me for all sorts of expensive repairs, but didn't. I left the area for several years. When I knew I was coming back, I just logged repairs that other mechanics suggested. When I got back to Ann Arbor, I gave Marv the list, and asked for his opinion. He looked the car over thoroughly, explained why several of the "repairs" were not necessary, and did the ones that needed doing. From being a low-income grad student in the '80's to today, I have never had a mechanic anywhere I've lived (Cleveland, Salt Lake City, Buffalo, ...) who I have trusted as much. Marv is one of a kind. The only draw back - this is a small operation. If he's out for lunch or a doctor's appointment, there is no back up. So if he doesn't answer the phone, be patient. He'll get back to you.

Marv/Sean are the best! They're honest, do quality work and have fair pricing! If they can't serve you well, they'll let you know ahead of time; before they work on your car and charge you!

I highly recommend using this repair shop. The staff are friendly and professional. Most importantly they are honest and quote a fair price. It is rare to find repair shops that you can trust that you car will be fixed in a timely and cost efficient manner. I have an appointment next week. I know that I will be satisfied if my experience is like the last time.

I’ve been a long time customer with imperial auto as well as everyone in my family. But after today I will no longer be working with them. I sent my car in complaining about a really loud grinding when I brake, figured my brakes needed replacing. I also asked them to change a burnt out bulb in my rear light. Got a call to come pick up the car and they said my brakes looked great and the noise was probably coming from excessive rain….. and that when they looked at the car the light wasn’t burnt out on my brake, that they “stuck their finger in there and wiggled it around to make sure it” I don’t even know but the light was still out when I picked up. Took it somewhere else for a second opinion because no ones brakes are okay when they sound this way. My brakes were frozen and warped in the rear and they even sent a picture along. Absolutely unacceptable service. It was extremely dangerous to send me out continuing to drive on those brakes, with children in my car. I called and left a message, didn’t hear anything back so took my business elsewhere. Still no call back. Adding photos of my voicemail from them telling me my brakes look great. Unbelievable.
