Jim Betit Auto Body & Collision Repair

We dropped our car off last minute to Jim for a bulb replacement and new brake pads and rotors all around before a day trip out of state. I also asked him to give an estimate on a small area of damage from someone's door. Here's our timeline: -10:30am drop off- Jim could not give estimate -3:30 call to Jim to follow up- parts had just arrived, no work started, still no estimate -4:50 call from Jim to ask if I needed car back same day- only did front pads & rotors because another car came in & he was done for the day, no estimate again when asked -1:30ish next day call from Jim to say car is done & total is $1,256.75. -3:30ish arrive to pick up car & express disappointment of cost- Jim stated he stayed & worked on car until 7:30 night before (four hours, if he started at 3:30) Jim had our car for over 24 hours, charged us for 6.2 hours of labor for brake pads, rotors, and left front bulb change. No estimate for the damage was given. The timeline he gave us when we were upset doesn't match up with 6.2 hours of labor, nor were we expecting to spend over a grand on this. Jim's website advertises free estimates before work is started, but he could not provide an estimate three separate times over the course of working on my car. I'm not sure how Jim would have handled it if we did not have funds available to cover this. Unfortunately, he took our choice away in finding another small business to support by withholding the estimate and trapping us into a ridiculous bill after.

Excellent work! Jim was able to squeeze my truck in and get it back to me quick! The work came out amazing and I felt reassured at every step. You can tell he really puts the work in and exery one who recommended me to him was right! Thanks Jim!

In my 25 years in the North country, I've had only one guy I could trust entirely, and he passed away 2 years ago. Now I found Jim after many disappointing experiences with local dealers who claim excellence and suck, ( Whiteman and a few other Shady operations) Jim was prompt, fair and is a true professional. Look no further for someone you can trust.

Fantastic experience! Jim did a wonderful job with body and paint work on my 2012 Subaru WRX! Jim finished my car quickly and it came out great! I would most definitely use his shop again in the future! Thanks Jim!

Brianna Lebrecht....he conned me too. I would just like to know what I payed 1400 dollars for. There was an area of the frame that need welding on the passenger side. Nothing was done. You conned me and took the money. I don't think you are an honest guy. I'll take it to someone else and perhaps they can tell me what I payed you for. I had car undercoated and the only found the passenger side hole which you could put your first through. They found no other welded areas. You conned me and took my money.
