wondered why this place had such bad reviews before i went in, then went in anyway. i guess that’s on me. the other reviews already speak to the overcharging. this dude made me pay a $600 deposit, then wanted another $1100 deposit UP FRONT for a $2800 total. all for some electrical work and some hardware installed on my car. then when the work was half done he told me to pick up my car and pay otherwise he’d charge me for storage of my car and wouldn’t continue the work until he was paid. never had an experience with a mechanic like this in my life. who pays for half work done? don’t pay until you SEE the work is COMPLETE, people.

This shop is a 🚨MAJOR SCAM🚨 and I would not recommend it to anyone on the planet. I paid $931.58 for having a battery installed on my 2006 Audi and let me tell you how a simple job accumulated to that much. When I came in I knew that I needed a new battery but I also wanted to get other work done. I was charged $289 upfront as a deposit and I left. A few hours later I received a text message from the mechanic stating that the battery instillation costs would be $330 plus tax. I agreed to pay that. The next text I received stated what was wrong with my car and that the cost would be $2600 plus tax to fix everything. I had no problem paying for getting my car serviced because my dad was also going to help me financially with it. He asked for a deposit of $2000 the same day through Zelle or in person. My dad, being a protective father, wanted to make sure I wasn’t being scammed so he wanted to talk to the mechanic before paying. I told the mechanic that my dad was helping me pay for this and would like to call him before proceeding. When my dad was finally able to call it was close to closing hours. My dad said he was VERY RUDE, as if he was baiting for an argument and when my dad asked for an invoice he refused to send it to him. Sending a person $2000 without getting an invoice just seemed like a red flag so my dad didn’t want to do business with him. The mechanic told me that since I dropped the car off he was required to give the invoice to me and not my dad since it’s not his car. I can understand that but he very easily could have taken a picture and sent it to me if that were the case so I could then share it with my dad. He was also now communicating with me in a rude manner through text. Now this is where it gets really messed up. Because it was close to closing hours at 3pm when he spoke to my dad, I was unable to pick up my car in time. It was a Friday and I didn’t realize that they closed so early and were closed until Monday. So now he texted me and told me that I had to pay a storage fee of $60 per day until I got my car and the only way it would be waived was if I proceeded with business. If I had known they closed so early and also that my dad wouldn’t proceed with business because of all the red flags he felt, I would have got my car as soon as I could. I got there Monday morning to pick up my car and had to pay $642.58 and all he had done on my car was put a new battery in. That doesn’t even include the $289 deposit I paid. So in total I paid $931.58 just for having a damn battery installed! This guy is doing wicked business and no person should be charged that much for the service I received. He could have easily waved the storage fee but he chose not to stating it’s the company rules. He didn’t feel an ounce of compassion for me and proceeded like it was just another day in the business of being a scammer. I wish I checked the reviews first because that would have told me a lot. This was a painful lesson for me and this is exactly why women need men (fathers, husbands, brothers) to go to shops with them because often we are taken advantage of. My dad found another shop with awesome reviews that we’ll be getting honorable service from. I hope my review helps the next person from getting scammed. Please find business somewhere else. I’ve been going to JMG repair for about 8 years now for tune ups and other work related to my Vw beetles. Pablo and his assistant (I think his name is Juan) have always taken care of me and my bugs starting with the first one that I bought in 2012 all the way up to my current 66 (3 in total he has serviced). Pablo and his Assistant are very knowledgeable when it comes to air cooled vehicles and his attention to detail is second to none. I have shopped around and have gone to other mechanics a couple of times just to find myself returning to JMG. Pablo is fast, proficient and very professional when it comes down to his service which is why i return time and time again. The only draw back that I have with JMG however, is that sometimes the final bill isn’t what was originally quoted...sometimes it’s higher and sometimes it’s lower.....but hey, you gotta pay to play. Over all I give JMG repair 4.5 out of 5 stars. Pablo knows his air cooled vehicles like the back of his hand and has a passion for classic VWs. Anyone with a classic VW would definitely be pleased with his service. Thanks JMG repair! -Curnell White

Terrible shop ,rip off. The guy will give you a false diagnostic then over charge you for repairs he allegedly made. He doesn’t honor his warranty for the repairs either. Take my advice and save yourself money, time, and anger dealing with this P of S! Don’t go here!!!
