Kar Buddies

This is going to be a bit of a long tale, but please read till the end. On October 22 my car overheated. I brought it to Gil for just the second time ever. The first time I brought it, he did my rear brakes for significantly less than any other franchise mechanic. So when my car overheated I drove straight to Kar Buddies. The first thing you said to me was, I should’ve had it towed in which was great advice. I did not know the new engines are aluminum and can be warped after just one overheating. When he got the car up on the lift, he told me to take it to a dealership because it looked like it had been installed wrong. The radiator was not in place and the hose was ruptured. Again this was all October 22, 2023. After dealing with the dealership which kept my car for six days just to tell me that there was body damage and send it to a body shop. It’s sat at the body shop for almost a month before they were able to get it fixed. Now mind you I had to stay in a hotel this entire time because I lived out of my car just becomes important. I returned to Gil on December 7. After having spent over $2000 on a new radiator and battery. The car was still not running. I explain to Gil that I will be sleeping in my car because I have no other place to go. The next day Gil came to my car and said listen I can’t sleep knowing that you’re out here in your car when it’s this cold at the time the temperature that night was supposed to drop to the mid-20s. He offered me a place to stay in his waiting room. I explain to him my situation and he said he will make sure to get me what I need at a price I can afford. He knew my budget. My engine was shot. I’ll post pictures at the end. I was able to get a used engine with 70,000 miles on it. He completely replaced my front brakes rotors and pads and also fixed a pump that works for the brakes that I didn’t even know was bad, he was able to do this for slightly more than what the body shop charged me for a radiator and battery. All together I spent nine days on the couch and his waiting room while I was waiting for the paperwork on the loan to pay for my repairs. There is so much more to the story, including how he and others kept me fed and warm. Having already made the story incredibly long let me just end it with without Gil I would not have been able to get my car fixed and I would be homeless I would recommend Gil to anybody and I do mean anybody if my mother was still alive, I would insist on sending her to Gil. Kar Buddies will always be my mechanic from here on out and I will do everything I can to get anybody and everybody to see Gil for their car needs. Thank you again Gil you genuinely saved my life. .

I just recently got out of hardship and started a new job in a new city, Bellevue, NE. My car (2009 Honda Pilot) which ultimately has been my only stable shelter as of late, started acting funny. I thought it was just the battery but found out it was the alternator. I called countless mechanics to get quotes on a new alternator plus installment and it was going to be entirely out of my price range right now since I have only received half of my paycheck due to me just starting with that company. Kar Buddies agreed to work out a plan with me so that I could get my car fixed this weekend, therefore being able to make it to work this week, and then being able to pay the rest. Well, they definitely fixed my car. But they fixed it for half of the price it would have been meaning I can use my next paycheck to find better housing and continue the new life I’m trying to start. At times lately, I’ve felt like giving up but Kar Buddies treated me like a human being and not a dollar sign. I felt defeated this morning but my faith is restored in humanity again. Thanks Kar Buddies for being a beacon of light in this sometimes all too dark world. I will definitely spread the word about this business and won’t be taking my car anywhere else.

The front passenger tierod on my truck recently broke. Arrow Towing Ernesto recommended Kar Buddies Gilbert & his crew to fix my truck. They worked on it right away, new part ordered, picked up, replaced & fixed all within a few hours. They told me it would still need an alignment. My work is pulling new campers to dealerships traveling everywhere. Service & Price was Great especially for me, someone broke down from out of town not knowing where to go & on a schedule. Thank You All Very Much! 🙂

Gilbert is a great fellow and their prices are sooo affordable. When ever my tenants have an issue with their car, Gilbert helps them out and keeps them rolling. I get all my oil changes done there and the 5th one is on the house. Super cool guys on 24th street...

Gilbert has excellent customer service. He put a new engine in my car the first time I came. Now he changes out my rack and pinion. Excellent service and great price. Will only come here for my services
