I've always done my own repairs but occasionally, over the last 15 or so years, I've used this shop when I didn't have the time or the inclination to do a job myself. My wife's car developed a stuck open thermostat and wouldn't reach full operating temp. Not a check engine light problem but still a fault condition, the A/C wouldn't work. I had the parts but not being a big fan of working with anti-freeze (we have cats) I stopped by the other morning and asked Ken how much to change the thermostat. He quoted me $50 to $75. That sounded very reasonable to me so I left the car there all day. Late that afternoon I picked it up and he showed me a bill for $260!!! Sensing my outrage and his lack of a comprehensible explanation he took a whopping $30 off. In my mind this was just a Band-Aid on a bullet wound. Adding insult to injury, driving home I could tell the cooling system wasn't acting right. After things cooled down (me included) I discovered the air wasn't bled from the system, a fairly simple procedure that I did myself, and I’m not even a “professional” getting $130/hr. If left unchecked this could have permanently damaged the engine. I don't know what's going over there but strongly suggest buyers beware. BTW, the car is running great again!

Kean's is honest and his prices are fair. I've brought my cars to him for over 15 years. I highly recommend him. He knows what he is doing. It's nice to be able to go to a mechanic i can trust.
