LAX Transmissions Introduce

LAX Transmissions is an Auto Repair Station located at 4501 W Century Blvd, Inglewood, CA 90301, USA. They can be reached at (310) 677-8661 or +1 310-677-8661.

Customer reviews for LAX Transmissions offer contrasting experiences. One customer praised the shop for its honest and transparent service, particularly in diagnosing a clutch issue. They appreciated the staff's communication and the fact they were given options rather than being pressured into more expensive repairs. This customer reported their car running better than it had in years and indicated they would recommend the shop to others.

However, another customer had a significantly negative experience. They reported a misdiagnosis of a rear axle noise, which was initially attributed to a transmission mount. After paying for the mount replacement, the noise persisted. Upon further personal inspection, the customer found the differential gears were completely disintegrated. This reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction, calling the shop "complete trash" and advising others to avoid it.

As an Auto Repair Station specializing in transmissions, LAX Transmissions offers services related to transmission repair, clutch replacement, and potentially differential repairs. The conflicting reviews suggest potential inconsistencies in diagnostic accuracy and service quality. Potential customers should be aware of these mixed experiences.

It is recommended that potential customers contact LAX Transmissions directly to inquire about their services, pricing, and diagnostic processes. Obtaining multiple quotes and seeking second opinions from other local repair shops is also advisable before committing to any major repairs.

Customer Reviews

I was worried the car that had gotten me through the last 12 years was on it's last leg until I brought it in. I was impressed how they were immediately able to identify that it was the clutch rather than the whole transmission as I had feared. I really appreciated how transparent the process was and how I was given options for what I wanted to take care of rather than being sold on a more expensive option. The staff was really friendly and communicative and honest about the scope of work. My car is back on the road and running better than it has in years. I'm referring all my friends here from now on!

Car was making horrible noise from rear axle. I believe a son of the owner took car for a drive and claimed it was the transmission mount. Paid to have it replaced, only to have him say it wasn't it. I pulled drive shaft myself, removed rear wheel axels, unbolted 3rd member to find gears completely disintegrated into pieces. How can a differential/transmission shop not know where grinding noise was coming from. Complete trash of a shop with dishonest workers. I'd avoid at all cost and look for different shop

Albert and Lydia are very professional and accountable when it comes to getting the job done properly. They are communicative and value integrity and honesty. If the job isn’t completed properly, they make sure that it gets done the right way. Would recommend this shop.

First I have to apologize to the amazing people at LAX Transmission. I thought I had written a review for them but discovered that I had not, so here it is. This company is a shining example of unprecedented customer service. I sh$# you not, this is a true story. We are from Oregon and had been visiting family in LA. On the day that we were set to depart on our journey home, our transmission died. We were screwed. We thought for sure that we would be squeezed for every last possible cent regardless of where we went. LAX Transmission was recommended to us, so we spoke to them and told them our situation. Albert gave us a beyond reasonable quote for a complete rebuild and promised to have us on the road in a few days. They knew we had to be back in Oregon due to a new job that I was starting and they shifted their schedule to take care of us. We were completely humbled and blown away. Fast forward a few months and our transmission went out again. Fortunately the work that LAX Transmission did was guaranteed! Unfortunately we were in Oregon so we couldn't just have it towed back to the shop. I called them up, sure that I would hear that I was SOL unless I could somehow get the car down to LA, but again the customer service of Albert and team went above and beyond. Albert was shocked to hear that the transmission had gone out again. Obviously he takes tremendous pride in his work. He asked me to take it to a local transmission shop and get him in contact with them. The new shop diagnosed the problem and reported back to LAX Transmissions who promptly rebuilt and expedited shipping for a new freaking transmission up to Oregon! He had even been willing to fly up and put it in himself if the new shop didn’t want to or wasn’t up to his standards. In the end, Albert didn’t have to come up but he made sure that we were taken care of. If anyone in the greater LA area needs any form of transmission work done, I can’t, in my wildest car repair fantasies, imagine how any other place could offer better service. If I could give LAX Transmission 1,000,000 stars, I would.

Sep 2021 I took my car to these guys because there was an issue with the SOLENOID. They told me they don’t do rebuilds so they supposedly bought one from the dealer and installed it. It took about 45 days for them to install a new transmission . This company never kept my car in their facility. Each day I would drive by , my car would be parked on the street. It wasn’t until I began showing up daily and calling that they finished the job. (They blocked me) I got my car back and immediately there were warning lights for my CRANKSHAFT which happens to be located right next the transmission. Less than a year later there’s an issue with the SOLENOID and they’ve had my car most of the month and they are refusing to fix it . They keep saying my car needs to be reprogrammed by I know for sure that doesn’t take weeks .
