I had a hard-to-diagnose recurring, but intermittent, problem with my car, which my regular mechanic hadn't tracked down after a few attempts. I went to Mahneke Motors on a friend's recommendation, for a second opinion, and I was very impressed indeed with his knowledge, mechanical wisdom, and customer service. In the end, no work done on my car here, but he spent a full hour discussing the problem with me, asking lots of good questions and explaining the mechanisms to me with the aid of computer animations, so I was well equipped to decide what I wanted to do next. He was patient, unhurried, and friendly, even though I was just coming in off the street without an appointment. There was no pressure-selling tactics, no demand for money, just a clear desire to do the right thing and help the customer make their car work right. Based on this, I would highly recommend Darby Mahneke to anyone.

Mahneke Motors provides fast, dependable, good natured service. I have visited them three times now and each time has been great! For someone like me who doesn't know anything about cars, I really appreciated the advice Darby gave me about what repairs to actually get and which ones weren't necessary for my car's age and mileage.

Mahneke motors team are true pros and he and his team know their industry top to bottom! The great thing is he is always trying to keep the bottom line down. I appreciate the fact that he can source refurbished parts sometimes saving thousands. Mahneke motors recently took care of my mother in law's car and the part that was required was quoted to her for over $1,200 at the dealership. Darby was able to find it refurbished for $199. It's been close to two years and with the regular maintenance she has never had a problem since. I always refer my friends and family here because of their honesty, knowledge and integrity. I had Mahneke replace all the fluids (AT, steering, coolant) on my classic Lexus, as well as get rid of the constantly on airbag light. They were very helpful and professional with doing the work. The mechanic also clued me in to an exhaust gasket failure I would have to repair to pass the smog check. I came back because I had thought the power steering hydraulic system was making noise but it was determined what I was hearing was the automatic air conditioning clutch. Very helpful and knowledgeable mechanics. As a woman I frequently feel like mechanics are trying to get me to do excessive work, I did not feel that way with Mahneke. I would be comfortable with using them again, and will. I was unsure if I should give 4 or 5 stars because my experience with them is minimal. Say 4.5 stars, just because they are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

We rented a U-Haul truck through Darby at Mahneke Motors, who contracts through U-Haul. Due to the previous renters of the truck not dropping the vehicle off on their scheduled drop-off day, we were without a truck at our scheduled pick-up time. Darby could have just said "well that sucks, sorry can't help you" but instead went well out of his way to get us a vehicle. He stayed after his closing time, called the U-Haul dispatchers for us, contacted the previous renters, and even went to another U-Haul location to pick up our tow dolly for us. Eventually he was able to get the truck from the previous renters and rent it to us. Without his help we would have had to delay our cross-country move (for which we had already booked hotels, scheduled a move-in appointment, etc.) I'm not exaggerating when I say he made our entire move possible. And throughout the entire process he could not have been nicer. Thanks Darby! I'll refer anyone in the area to you whenever I can.
