Oceanside Auto Repair and Smog

I’ve come here four times to try and get smog done but everytime I’m told the machine isn’t calibrated. Only come here because it’s literally around the corner. Left my car twice all day long and was asked if I could leave it overnight. Can you believe that? Leave my car overnight for SMOG. What a joke of a shop.

My son was released from the Marines and we were driving from Camp Pendleton to Colorado on a tight schedule. My son had the car inspected and repaired at Firestone on base prior to my arrival and his release. However, when I arrived I noticed a noise. We ordered the knuckle from O'Reilly (across the street from Oceanside). We were referred to Oceanside by O'Rielly. Oceanside was able to look at our car, and despite the hour (3pm) agreed to change the knuckle for us. However, once they took the tire off they found the problem - it wasn't the knuckle, it was that Firestone hadn't tightened a bolt, which would have been a HUGE safety hazard and eventually worn out the knuckle (if we didn't die on the drive to CO). They tightened the bolt (which fixed the problem) and got us on our way. We were able to return the unused part to O'Reilly. Oceanside was honest, thorough, accommodating, and more than fair. I wish I knew mechanics like this in Colorado! I cannot say enough about this place! THANK YOU!

Very happy with my experience at this shop. My car started making "weird" noises, and I was worried because it was far above my specialty to fix. Called around a few places, but after being referred by a friend who takes all of his family's cars here, I was super impressed by the level of technical excellence and their level of customer service. After describing in brief my issues and providing a way to replicate them, the technician called me back within 1 hour after dropping off my car and provided me with a quote to fix all of my immediate issues. On top of that, he gave me some peace of mind with other aspects of my car that I was somewhat worried about which did not need any immediate attention. The quote provided on the phone matched up completely to what I was expecting, and even though there was a slight delay due to the parts involved for my car being somewhat non-standard, he did not alter or put in any surprise costs. Once I picked up my car, a 10 year old Nissan, it felt brand-new again and I was put at ease with my daily driver once more. Overall, this is a place you can trust to provide you with quality service and a reputation backed by solid character from everyone employed. From the front desk to the lead mechanic and everyone else, I never felt like I was treated substandard, and in fact, I felt more trust here than I have at almost any other shop I've ever taken my car to for basic maintenance and repair. If you live in or work in the Oceanside area (they are in North Oceanside) you should consider this place for all of your repair needs. 5 stars, and they've made a new happy & loyal customer. This is the shop I'll be happy to take all of my family's cars to for the foreseeable future.

We had an amazing experience with Oceanside Auto Repair! Our food distribution van for the North County LGBTQ Resource Center was due for a full tune-up after a year of not having any repairs done. Scheduling the appointment was easy and quick, and the workers here were so friendly and knowledgeable! Not only was the service itself very fast, but the only thing needed was an oil change with the best quality oil, a tire check, and alignment. After a negative experience at a different auto repair shop, where the oil change was cheap and done incorrectly, we wanted trusted professionals only. We are proud to use this company for our grocery distribution van!
