Pep Boys

Waste of time and money. Go to Big Brand tires instead. Went there 2 hours before closing to repair a flat with no cars in the bays, they told me I’d have to leave the car overnight! Changed to a spare right in the parking lot and went there 8:00am sharp to fix the tire they said it would take 3 hours. My question is, do these people have any concept of customer service or are they so incompetent that no one wants to work for them. If it is not worth it for them to fix a flat, why do they not just tell you so you go someplace else. Pep boys has lost another customer.

I've had satisfactory service at this particular Pep Boys (on Pico in Los Angeles) in the past, but my experience over the last two days has been nothing short of terrible. Trying to get through by phone was nearly impossible. After waiting on hold for 50 minutes, someone finally picked up—only to immediately hang up on me. I was simply trying to prepay for a tire over the phone with my credit card, but it seems their way of handling "bothersome" customers is to hang up on them. The next day, after yet another long wait, someone finally answered, acknowledged me by name, told me to hold—and then disconnected the call. At that point, it became clear: they did not want my business. What makes this even worse is that we have spent over $1,000 on services here recently, but after this experience, we will never return. I can’t help but wonder if the owner knows this is happening. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE ! Wasted my time and money!! Anthony specifically wasted my time and money! They held my car for 12 days the first time and they didnt even fix the problem. The issue was my car was overheating. They told me there was two things wrong. The price they quoted me was outrageous. I said, what can I do about the price so Anthony told me I don’t have to get the thermostat fixed so I said, OK great fix the other thing. What he failed to explain to me was if I didn’t fix both parts the issue of my car overheating would not be resolved . I was under the impression. If I fix the first part, my car would be able to run. I would be able to make money and get the second part fixed. They did not explain to me that if I didn’t get both parts fix my car, would not be running and be back in the shop within days and still overheating. if I brought the car in for overheating why wouldn’t you fix everything so the car wouldnt overheat why would you offer me the option of not getting the thermostat fixed? So in total i could have paid $1400 and got both problems fixed at the same time but instead i paid $900 for the first fix because he offered the option to not include the thermostat. only to end up back at their horrible shop to pay another $700 to fix the thermostat anyway 3 days after picking it up! So they played me out of $200 and had my car in total for 2 weeks after saying they would have it done in 3 days when i first brought it in. so i had to pay for a rental oh look there goes more money out my acct and then all the work time i lost when i couldnt keep the rental anymore . Also when they finally finished my car they didnt even bother to call me and tell me to pick it up. I had to call them and ask for an update cause i noticed it was getting close to their closing time. Charles never knew what was happening which is crazy cause i think he is the manger and Anthony has ZERO social skills and no customer service skills and spoke me like im the problem and not a paying customer ! Horrible experience would never have come to them if my car didnt overheat 2 blocks from their location! I truly feel they took advantage of the fact that im a women and dont know much about cars ! Horrible horrible horrible !!!!!!!!!

I tried the dealer to service my car before a trip. The earliest I could schedule was a month out. I checked Pep Boys and was able to bring my car in next day and serviced the same day. In addition, they helped me buy tires and Pep Boys installed them the day they were delivered. I really needed to get it done quickly and Pep Boys made it happen. They also sent pictures of rotors brakes etc with their estimate.

Really nice place :) I came here to get my tire pressure checked and air filled and the tech Luis helped me out. He was very friendly and nice and gave great service. I didn’t have to wait or anything and he helped calibrate the car as well. I really appreciated him helping me out so quickly and nicely!
