I hate to write this, but after all the stress and disappointment, I feel compelled to share my experience as a warning to other car enthusiasts. Things started off well. Moe was accommodating—he picked up and dropped off my vehicle from Brooklyn and once offered a loaner car. While there were some frustrating communication issues and missed timelines, they initially delivered good work that matched the premium price tag. I booked my car for an ECU install and was told it would take a couple of weeks. However, unforeseen issues arose, including the need to replace the wiring harness, coil packs, and clutch- typical vintage car dramas. After 4.5 months, the car was tuned and ready for pickup. When I picked my car up, I noticed terrible paint deterioration on all sky-facing surfaces and a headlight full of water. Initially, I thought it was a detailing mistake but soon realized the car had been left outside in the harsh elements. This was despite Moe repeatedly assuring me it was always stored safely indoors. The tune was also problematic: with cold start, idle issues. Moe offered to address the tune, paint, and headlight issues, so I sent the car back to their shop. Three months later, I picked up my car again. To my horror, the paint condition had significantly worsened, and my custom interior had faded. I was charged to have the water drained from the headlight! On top of that, Petrolwerks sent me off with a completely dead battery, which they didn’t mention. I discovered this only after making a stop and needing to call AAA to replace the battery on my way home. Moe apologized after seeing photos of the paint condition and initially offered to fix it (again), but after I sent a quote for a professional paint correction, he went silent and failed to follow through. I should also mention the retune fixed the cold start and idle but but the engine was now cutting out at 5000 rpm. Another shop in NJ identified and fixed the issue in just 10 minutes by rerouting a vacuum hose. I ended up spending $1,300 on a paint correction, which partially restored the paint. As someone who takes great care of my vehicle—it’s always garaged and rarely driven in winter—I expected better from Petrolwerks, a shop run by car enthusiasts. Sadly, their carelessness and failure to take responsibility turned this into a really stressful and expensive ordeal.

Petrolwerks is my go to for all things automotive. they have built and serviced many of my race cars including m3, r8, trackhawk, z06, range rover and many others. This team is filled with wonderful, friendly, helpful and caring people and i could not possibly recommend them any more highly

It was my first time getting fabrication work done, and Petrolwerks exceeded my expectations. They were incredibly transparent and straightforward, with fair pricing to match. Best of all, the work was completed in just one day. Moe and the team did an outstanding job, and their attention to detail really stood out. For example, my exhaust tips were slightly uneven, but they not only fixed them perfectly but also gave me a new license plate cover. It’s the little things like that that make a big difference.

Did some exhaust work on my m235i (sounds super good), super efficient and quick and nice people. Explained to me what they were doing and were really happy to give me some knowledge on the car. Overall super great experience and will be going back for my intake!

After much research I finally came in for ecu tune. Josh took care of the tune While Moe Showed me around the shop and the work they do. With in 45 min I was out of there. I’m definitely feeling the difference in power after the tune. 100% will be coming back for more upgrades to my GTI.
