Precision Mechanix

This shop charged me $183 for repairs that were never done. I hired them to replace the blend actuator door on my 2014 jeep patriot. The mechanic gave the car back to me and put in their notes that “driver side actuator door working properly now, heat working well”. Except that there is still no heat coming out through the passenger side vents of the vehicle. When I explained this to the head mechanic, Matt Dietrich, he said that I have a plugged up heater core — which any experienced mechanic will tell you that is not possible because the blend actuator door pushes air either towards the heater core to produce heat through the vents, or to the evaporator lines to produce cold air for the A/C. In other words, if the heater core was plugged up, then there would be no heat at all in the vehicle and blend actuator would be sending cold air through the vents when the temperature knob is turned to hot. To make a long story short, this shop never fully fixed the problem, but instead, tried to convince me that I needed another part; just so that they could get more money out of me. They also did not reinstall the trim pieces that were removed from the steering column. They wouldn’t even provide a proper receipt from a parts store to show proof that they purchased a new blend door actuator. Based on the lack of detail in their work and the fact that I still have the same problem that I had prior to coming to their shop, there is no definitive proof that they replaced the part that I hired them to replace. When I asked for them to fix the problem to reconcile the issue, or a full refund; the owner (Matt Dietrich) told me to go to another shop and locked me out of his business. I will be reaching out to file a complaint with the state of Michigan and will be pursuing legal action against this business. TLDR: Precision Mechanix charged me $183 for repairs that they did not do. Trim pieces were never reinstalled. Attention to details was extremely poor. Meanwhile, I still have the same problem that I hired them to fix (no heat on passenger side). Head mechanic locked me out of his building when I asked for them to fix the problem or give me a full refund.

100/10 would recommend! Great place! I came into town with my car literally smoking and very limited options trying to get home which was still a 2hr drive. Very reliable and straightforward, They helped me out and sent me on my way. I am very grateful for these guys and the service they provided me today.

Just had my Lexus serviced at this shop and my gosh was I impressed with the knowledge and service. Not to mention the least amount I have ever spent at a shop on this car. I purchased new tires and had all the struts replaced. Not only a brand new car drive wise but also the service was amazing. What nice people. I'll be back for all my repairs!!! Precision Mechanix is the best. I'm so lucky to have found them. Very difficult to find a mechanic that checks all the boxes.I've never come across a mechanic so honest and trustworthy. The work they perform is top shelf, and always done on schedule.
