All the reviews are true: Chris is an exceptional human that provides top-notch service. He's quick, affordable, honest, and really just a nice guy to be around. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work and that cars and helping people is his passion. Just go here, you won't be disappointed.

I needed the brakes done on my Subaru Crosstrek after 50,000 miles driven. I was skeptical of the price quote Subaru Pacific gave me so I researched independent Subaru mechanics. I was lucky enough to find out about Raffi Motors. Chris did the work at less than half the cost of what the dealer was charging. He’s friendly, honest, and efficient. I’ll go back to Chris instead of the dealer any time I need work done from here on out.

So grateful to have been recommended to this shop. Chris is a really fair and honest guy. I got my CV axel replaced on my crosstrek. I called and they were able to do it same day. It took just a bit over an hour and I was really pleased with the price. They have a little waiting room, but I walked to Urth Cafe and had tea while I waited. Great business. Will be back next time I need any kind of service.

Chris is the best mechanic I’ve ever encountered. Over the summer my XV Crosstrek started to have jerking/bogging issues when accelerating. It felt like the transmission was slipping which was very worrisome. I took my car to Chris and he recommended I take my car down the street to the Hindry Ave Subaru dealership for a diagnostic in case it was something the drivetrain warranty would cover. What a headache the dealership was (the assigned service rep was not responsive when I would call to check in and he misplaced my keys), not only did they not diagnose the issue, but they gave me a service list totaling over $5,000!! I took my car back to Chris hoping he could diagnose but didn’t see the problem. The issue did not go away and I had been driving with this acceleration hesitation issue for months. Until this week some service lights turned on in my car and took to Chris. This time I asked him to drive my car while I rode in the passenger seat. Sure enough, once he felt the hesitation he was immediately focused on finding the root cause. It was around 5:00 pm and I left my car with Chris overnight… an hour later he calls me and says he fixed the issue! I was so impressed with his dedication to helping me, staying after hours to investigate. Turns out the mass air flow sensor needed to be cleaned, which Chris charged me only $95 (this blows the Subaru dealership out of the water, it’s honestly embarrassing). If you live in the South Bay area and are looking for a private party Subaru mechanic, look no further. Not only is he great at fixing cars, but he is very honest and wants to save you money.
