My car broke down on the Manhattan bridge and I called 911. They sent Richmond Towing since not all towing companies are allowed to tow cars off the bridge. He started hooking my car up on the front wheels. I asked the driver, my car is all-wheel-drive and automatic. Are you sure you we can tow it with the back wheel down? He said, my car isn't 4 wheel drive. Since he already had a car on his flatbed, I didn't really have another choice and just wanted to get to safety. Then the driver told me they're only authorized to get me off the bridge. He dropped me off on a side street near the bridge which was less than a mile. I then spent another 1.5 hours looking and waiting for a towing company to tow my car to my mechanic. But I'm not sure if this is true since I later looked at my receipt, it said, "Hoist and tow including 1st 10 miles or fraction thereof". I also noticed on the receipt, he gave himself a $22 tip. I would have gave him cash tip anyway, but I didn't feel this was right. I'm just glad I got off the bridge safely and that's all that matters. Still, I hope your business can do better. Follow-up: Thank you for reaching out and explaining to me what happened. I'm changing the rating to 4 stars. Richmond Towing called and explained to me that the $22 tip is actually the new toll for the congestion pricing. As for the part about not towing my car to my requested destination. I read the stipulation on the back of the receipt. I felt the driver should have taken my car to my mechanic which is about 5 miles away because the towing time didn't fall within the 7-10am and 4-7pm rush hour time frames, authorized by the Commanding officer or bad road conditions. With that being said, I would have appreciate if he gave me some kind of discount if he wasn't going to take me to my mechanic. I'm leaving my original comment because I would like to educate people on this process. I wish I had known this before hand.

My husband's car broke down on the Cross Island and needed to be towed off. He broke down in a tricky spot and I was so worried because I was an hour away. The person who answered the phone was so helpful and I was amazed when my husband called to tell me that the tow guy was already hooking it up so quickly! We have had many tows over the years and I have to say these folks are the best, from start to finish and the folks in the office so helpful too, when I need to get a receipt for AAA, they could not have been nicer, so if you Need a Tow, they are the WAY TO GO. It is really great to be able to mention a business that gets it right!

Never came for me when they’re the only ones who can tow my car at the cross island parkway. The receptionist legit called me back after an hour wait, and first thing she did was to put me on hold. I’m quite appalled at this service, 25 degree weather, stranded. It was by some force of miracle that my car was able to move again and I drove off.

As New Yorkers we’ve all dealt with bad dispatchers or tow sites. Not this one. Very respectful and understanding because I had a wicked night before to say the least. I retrieved my car safely and promptly. Shout out to the guys there.

This five star review is soley off of the care, patience, kindness, and professionalism of Brianna with the impounding department. She was transparent, kind, and gentle with me through my severely life-threatening experience of my car being totaled. She was compassionate and gave me ample information to help me through getting my car from the pound and telling me everything I should know, this being my first car accident. She has single-handedly made this process for me a bit lighter and I appreciate Brianna more than she understands. She deserves a raise of some sort and I hope she can train the next people behind her because I am confident that Richmond Towing will have multiple Incredible employees if she leads them.
