These guys and this shop are AMAZING !! We had Cat Converter issues with a 2914 Outback, they replaced them at a fraction of the cost of the dealer....then it got interesting! My wife experienced the same loss of power and poor engine performance crossing Lookout Pass. She took it to the Subaru dealer in another state and was told that we needed $10,000 worth of catalytic converter work!! We contacted the team at Righty Tighty, they thought that it might be a manufacturers defect in the parts. We trailered the rig from Idaho back to Bozeman and they warrantied their work. Car is running great, this is a great group of mechanics that really care about their work and the customer. Thanks for being such awesome people! Joe and Debbie Fitzgerald

These guys were amazing, we had been struggling with lights on our dashboard in our Subaru for a year, A-1Brakes recommended we bring our car here, timing wasn't working so we took it to the dealership first and they wanted to do $8000 in work on a car I bought for $5k. Righty Tighty fixed the lights, our cruise control, emergency brake, antilock brakes and traction all work now, they completed in the predicted budget of a few hundred dollars, gave us a list of items that needed work, ones that had to happen soon and others that could wait. These guys will be where we always bring our Subaru from now on!

Righty Tighty is an awesome place filled with awesome people who really want to help you. They aren’t the kind of shop that will convince you to do the most expensive fix just to make money off of you. I’ve had my 2003 Subaru forester in there twice so far. Once to get a new belt for my AC. Then to figure out why my radiator isn’t holding any coolant. I am a struggling college student and the second time they only charged me for the price of parts. It was well within their right to charge me labor costs but they understood my situation and only had me pay for parts. And I believe most places would have told me I need new head gaskets which would have been a more expensive fix than the car is probably worth, but they gave me a cheaper fix so I can try it out and see if it solves the problem before they move into more expensive fixes.

I can't say enough good things about Righty Tighty Repair. Jared, Braden, and crew are truly salt-of-the-earth guys—kind, honest, and clearly passionate about their work. I recently went to them on very short notice after the Subaru dealership diagnosed a head gasket issue (amongst a few other things) that they said would cost $5000 to fix. The guys at Righty Tighty inspected my car thoroughly and quickly found that the issue was a broken radiator cap, not the head gasket. They explained the issue to me very clearly (as someone who is not super car savvy). They fixed it for less than $100 and even went above and beyond to install an OBD digital gauge to help me keep an eye on the cooling system temperature while driving. My car has been driving perfectly well since my visit to their shop and it's comforting to know it's still a reliable car. I just want to add a little personal note: their attention to detail and honesty really stood out, and saved me so much money—money that I was able to use to give my sweet senior cat a peaceful passing at the vet this week. It made a tough time so much easier to bear. I will be sticking with Righty Tighty from now on. These guys turned a stressful situation into a positive experience, and I’m so grateful for their help. Highly recommend!
