After reading all the reviews, I took a bite and got to the bottom of it. Groupon is roughly $30. (you can get it cheaper when there're promos) Fine print states there is a $8.75 fee on top. Forget the $8.75 fee, it's $10-20. My car was a 2018 (just a Mazda, nothing special about it), but I was told it's an additional $20 because it's an SUV. Indeed, the extra $10 is written in very small print with a marker on the wall, but it's too late by the time you see this sign. All in all, it came out to about $40-50 for the smog check which is about right. Keep in mind though, some smog check places are $50-70, but offer free retests if you fail. He still got the smog check done quickly. I was in and out in 20 mins so I'm happy. A little hard to get in and out of because there are many car shops here. Wouldn't want my mom driving in here. I think if the fine print on the Groupon clearly states what customers will be charged for, it can be a better experience for everyone.

Avoid this smog check place. They attract customers with Groupon offers but claim you're ineligible for the voucher once you arrive, and you must pay extra dollars to get the check done. I ended up paying twice the Groupon price for the smog check, and they only accept cash—no credit cards. Additionally, they don’t keep their operating hours updated. I first visited on the Saturday before Labor Day weekend because Google Maps shows they are open, but they were closed on that day. Waste of time.

SC Smog Chek service is number one. We had our van there for regular service required, the job was done quickly and thorough. Even though it was Smog Test Only, the owner who was a mechanic before advised us on some items that we need to pay attention such as the noise from the solenoid, tires wear, brakes, etc. We would recommend this shop. 5+ stars!

This is awesome place to do smog check. Andy is very nice guy and knowledgeable. After finishing smog check he also take a look of some important point in my car and give me some recommendations for me to keep my car better. Highly recommend
