Service Department at Culver City Toyota

I had two great experiences here. I brought my car in one time in October for an oil change and they also replaced my rear brakes. They gave me a really good deal that was comparable if not cheaper to other places in the area. The second time I had a malfunction with my AC, and they replaced it (warranty covered) with no issue. Sam was my service advisor both times and did a great job taking care of my car. It helps that they have shuttle service to work. This makes things a lot easier. They can get pretty busy on Saturdays so weekdays are better. Also pick up can be busy sometimes but not more than 5-10 minutes to wait for your car. Overall, great service, kind employees, good prices, would recommend.

Lots of negativity here in this review section. I suppose those who had a good experience are the quietest. I had a solid experience. Pretty standard stuff. It was an efficient experience considering the volume of maintenance and repairs. They had someone I could text questions to while I waited. Nice facilities for lounging and good nearby shops and food.

Service is poor and extremely slow. Don't offer appointment times if you don't actually have the ability to honor those times. A 3-4 hour estimate to *start* work past your appointment time is asinine. Yes, the vehicle was dropped off exactly at the time of appointment. If you're paying the ridiculous markup for dealer service, you should, at the bare minimum be receiving service on par with any reasonably priced non-dealer shop. At the very least, inform your customers ahead of time that your appointment time will not be honored.

I think the dealership in Marina Del Rey holds first place for the worst service I’ve ever experienced, but the guys at Culver City could compete with them. The service is simply terrible. I spent literally 3 hours at the dealership just to get an oil change, and nothing more. I had an appointment and arrived on time. I don’t understand what can take 3 hours or how long an oil change can possibly take. In addition, advisor Samuel was rude, and it was unpleasant dealing with him because he was unfriendly from the moment we met. After waiting for 2 hours, I asked him when my car would be ready, to which he replied he would check, but then continued chatting with a woman who also works at the dealership. Later, when the car was ready, I asked him to bring it out so I could inspect it for any damages. However, he insisted I sign the documents first, which is completely wrong. Documents for receiving the vehicle should only be signed after it has been inspected and accepted. That’s how it’s supposed to work. Even though I currently can’t walk and my leg is injured, he told me, “If you want that, go to my manager and ask him yourself,” which was extremely rude considering I can’t walk, and he was supposed to handle that. I took my car, but the level of terrible service was off the charts.
