Star Car of Huntington

If you’re ever in need of a local mechanic or auto body shop, this is the place to go to. My family have been customers of Star Car for years, but my most recent experience prompted me to write this review. After a recent accident, my dad’s car was towed to a different auto body shop in the area. Upon “inspection” that shop determined that the vehicle should be totaled. We contacted Bobby at Star Car, who had the vehicle towed to his shop the following day for a second opinion. Bobby determined that the vehicle was not totaled and was able to repair my Dad’s car cost effectively. Not only did he repair the vehicle, while he was driving the car to realign it, he noticed that the breaks were pulling and took it upon himself to further inspect it. He determined that both caliber’s on the front wheels were frozen and repaired them, making the vehicle completely safe. All this to say, Bobby and the entire staff at Star Car consistently go above and beyond. I’ve always been happy with their work, but this time especially, it’s clear that their priority is with the customer, ensuring your vehicle is repaired safely and properly. Thank you Bobby!

One of the best, if not the best, places to bring your car. They essentially rebuilt my car after I bought a lemon a couple years ago for an incredible price after my previous mechanic wouldn't work on it. They understood that I couldn't afford much and was determined to not lose out on the money I spent. They made sure the car was safe and ready for long commutes and really saved my first car buying experience, making sure I didn't lose out on thousands and that my months of saving wasn't for no reason. Then a few days ago my car broke down in Queens due to an old battery that caused some other damage, I got it towed and the tow truck insisted I use there place, I tried it, they gave me a price that I wasn't able to afford, with the price they gave it would have been worth junking the car and buying a new one, the place said they got there parts from a premium spot, which would explain the high prices but the place left their computer on and they order their parts from advanced auto parts and wanted to charge more than doubled the cost of the items (not including the cost of labor), so I had it towed to Star Car, since I'd rather give them my business as I know they would be helpful and truthful. Within a day Star Car fixed the problems for a third of what the other place wanted to charge!! Star Car truly an incredible business with amazing people that work there. I reside in queens at the moment, and from now on without question I will always bring my car to Star Car in Huntington. Ill once again mention they are truly a great business, straight forward, understanding and importantly they are great at what they do.

The repairs were substandard and the owner took no responsibility. I dropped the car off twice after the initial two month repair, leaving the car there for more than a week with no loaner or even an offer for a ride, only to find a filthy car and more issues after picked up. I finally just gave up. Maybe that’s not the typical experience, but it was mine.

These people are amazing. My car came back to me looking better than it did before the accident. I felt this business not only has tremendous skill, but a great dose of integrity. This shop has worked on my vehicles before and I am so grateful I took the extra steps to find their newer location. Always a happy customer!

I take my car all the way to this shop from Oakdale because I trust them to do honest work. I've had a couple of automobile incidents in the last few months that landed me in need of a body shop, and they impressed me so much the first time that I had my insurance tow my new vehicle to them even tho there were certainly closer shops by me. A couple of months ago, when my jeep was hit, it was a close call on weather or not it was safe to repair or of we should call it totaled. Instead of taking a 10 grand job, the owner was honest and told me that it would be safer to declair it a loss, which I really appreciated. I loved that jeep and definitely could have been talked into fixing it if he told me it was a smart idea. His exact words to me were "If I didn't feel safe giving my daughter this car to drive, I won't give it to you either." So obviously when my xterra I replaced it with got into a fender bender, I knew exactly where I was taking it. I absolutely reccomend this shop anyone in need of bodywork, Bob is great! They really seem to care about their customers as individuals, instead of just money, and they even gave my truck back to me cleaner then when I dropped it off! 10/10 service!
