Coming down the mountain from Lake Lure in my VW Golf GTI while heading home for Alabama my engine oil light came on and I started getting some clatter from under the hood. About eight miles later I coasted into Hendersonville thinking my engine was a write off. In a most roundabout manner, some people call it luck, I stumbled onto Stuttgart Motorwerks and Pete Martin. With his experience and functional expertise Pete zeroed in on a clogged oil pick up tube and a clogged chain tensioner screen. In the end, it was just a tear down and clean up and it cost far less than the price of a new or even rebuilt long block, which I was at that point resigned to. I drove home with the old GTI purring like a kitten. For the effort the entire crew at Stuttgart made to get me back on the road, for the detailed communication and for their honesty, my repair bill was every bit worth it. If you are ever in Hendersonville, North Carolina or even nearby and you are having issues with your Porsche, Audi or VW make Pete Martin your first contact. You can tell him I sent if you like. I Don't know if that will get you a discount but, either or, it will get you professional high quality work which is damned hard to find these days...Bravo Pete!
