tl;dr TOYOTA SCRATCHED MY CAR, THEN MADE IT RIGHT! I brought my Supra in for a break in oil change. When my service was complete, I noticed a ton of stains by the hood emblem. I keep my car clean so now I'm looking real close at the nose, and I find 3 scratches. One is a clean straight razorblade-like scratch straight across the nose, another is a large weblike scratch that looks like it was sandpapered on the corner of the nose, and a final deep scratch on another side chipping thru the primer. I notified David right away, and Johary reviewed all the footage to ensure the car did not come in this way, and to find root cause of how this happened if this occurred on the lot. In the end, we couldn't find hard evidence on what caused it. Johary confirmed the Supra Tech was extremely careful with my car. Our best hunch was that the incident happened some time, some where in the service lot before or after the oil change. Johary and David agreed to have Toyota Sunnyvale cover the cost. They worked with a body shop to have the damage repainted the proper way (nose off, sand, prime, paint, wax) and they set me up with the best rental they had: A Gray Toyota Camry so I can go from being a highly visible bad driver, to a completely invisible bad driver. I rode invisibly for 2 weeks. When the car arrived from the body shop, we learned the car's sensors had to be recalibrated because the nose was removed. Because the Supra MK5 is a BMW, it uses BMW repair and calibration tools. And these tools are shared across dealers, and the closest sensor cal tool is 100mi's away and it'd be a week to get it to Sunnyvale. Johary offered to DRIVE TO THE PLACE TO GRAB IT HIMSELF OMG but Toyota wouldn't let him. So I went and drove invisibly for another week. One week later, my Supra is cal'd and it's ready for pickup. It was parked in the Sunnyvale lot for a week and it must have been parked under some kind of tress because it came back covered in a TON of black spots. Looks like artillery fungus (?) because elbow grease and mild soap wasn't removing it. I'm not allowed to wash the car for 30 days (paint is curing). But I figured it's just the nose panel I needed to keep dry. So I very carefully did the most touchless Touchless wash on the rest of the car (purposely redundant). Then spent 2 hours claying 98% of the black spots off my car before rushing to catch my flight. In the end I didn't mind, I know they had to keep it parked while the sensor arrived. That's a long winded way of saying Johary and David really took care of me. Despite being really busy at Sunnyvale Service Department with everyone else's stuff. When problems happen, it's about how you handle them, and I thought Johary and David both bent over backwards, handled it professionally and logically, and moreover they were empathetic and kind.

Quick and painless as long as you know what you're there for and request it clearly. They get the job done and most reps are usually having a good day so your experience should be just as good as their quality of service. Shuttle services are also available if you need to get back home and can't wait around until they call or text you, but there's also plenty of comfortable seating on their new waiting/sales area. Makes all the difference if you want your Toyota or Lexus running smoothly for years to come.

I am not always the most reasonable person - but this group really knows how to take care of people and their cars!! Everyone I interacted with is extremely helpful and personable. It was brought to my attention on my way to work one morning that I had a wobbly wheel. Toyota Sunnyvale sent someone out to pick up my car from work, take it to their facility and fix the problem. They brought my car back to me the same afternoon. They even checked the other wheels to make sure the problem would not repeat. The best part about this experience was the representative who called me before she brought my car back. She asked if I would mind driving her back to Toyota Sunnyvale. Everything she said and did put me at ease about the entire situation. She is absolutely one of the nicest people I have ever met. Thank you to everyone at Toyota Sunnyvale!

Making reservations and dropping off car is easy. They offer a free shuttle to drop you off. Its pricey here! I'm sure you can get it cheaper at other places but it's just convenient to come here. Their service is slow. Ill usually drop it off at 7am- 8am and pick up.is not till 6pmish. The last time I had a major work done on the car so dropped it off on a Friday and picked it up on a Tuesday. After I picked it up on Tuesday evening, I had to bring the car back on Wednesday because some light came on but they fixed it for free.

Updates: The management called me and confirmed that a simple battery change will indeed cost $450 before tax at Toyota Sunnyvale. If that sounds like a reasonable price to you, go for it lol. I had a disappointing experience at Toyota Sunnyvale, and after emailing management over a month ago, I’ve heard nothing back. I went in to replace my car battery after jump-starting it multiple times. The service advisor quoted $270 for a diagnostic check and $450 for a battery replacement, which seemed high but I agreed to the diagnostic. After 30 minutes, The advisor confirmed it was the battery and said he “helped” by waiving labor, bringing the price to $214.95. This didn’t add up—was labor for direct battery change $450 - $214.95 = $235.05? The invoice showed a full Multipoint Inspection was done in less than 30 minutes, even though I’d clearly said it was just the battery and mentioned I had regular service last month. They were inconsistent with pricing, didn’t explain things well, and didn’t address my concerns. On top of that, no one has responded to my complaint email. This lack of transparency and accountability is disappointing and unprofessional.
