Pete was easy and excellent to work with. Even before doing any work at his shop or sending him my car, he was a great wealth of knowledge and helped guide me to the best one to purchase. Once I got it, he completed a manual conversion and clutch replacement. His shop is a bit more pricy than others, likely because the location, but you typically get what you pay for. What I got was a PERFECT conversion to a gated manual f430. He got the work done quickly and very well. He sent me photos, updated me the entire time, and continued to check in to make sure it was happy with the work. I’d definitely recommend him for anyone looking to convert their paddles to a gated manual!

I started with Universal when they were still in Glen Cove. Joe worked on my F430 and did a good job. I trusted them with my car. But my recent engagements fell very short. My top wouldn’t open and I had them do the elastic replacement. I put the car away for the winter and in the spring the same problem with the top occurred. They showed me a ‘workaround’ to get it to work and said that’s how it is sometimes and there’s nothing they could do! I accepted the answer for a while. Then I went with a PPF from them. Bad decision. There are bubbles along the running boards and flaps on the mirrors. They also used precut film so none of the edges are tucked in. Just a poor job. When I asked them to take a look they again said, that’s how it is. They took care of some edges along the front lip but nothing else. I am a bit naïve as I never had these services and didn’t know the right way. After asking around, I have learned. I am not going back to Peter and Universal. I have already spent $1000 elsewhere to have the top fixed again. Now it works properly. Next year I will have the PPF removed and redone. Tough $3500 lesson. Car is put away. I’ll add a few more photos when it comes out of hibernation. By the way, that’s my F430 Spider in the center of the shop in the website photos.

Sharp and carefull. I Had a sporatic reccuring issue with my 87 328 GTS, After a month or so, with no warning.she would not start. Joe . The tech in the back, figured out it was an old alarm with an ignition kill that was hidden. He took the steering wheel off and pulled every wire that was associated with the alarm. I will post a picture if the bees nest that came out. Needless to say no issues since. Thanks Joe and thanks Pete .

Peter and the crew at Universal are straight forward, honest and fair. I have used them for service and interior stickies- top shelf. I have referred many people to the shop for services and they have been very happy and thankful. I would not hesitate to recommend them!!!
