Customer reviews for Howard's Coin-Op Car Wash highlight concerns about equipment maintenance, soap quality, and management behavior.
One customer, experienced with self-service car washes, expressed significant disappointment. They criticized the token dispenser for mixing tokens with quarters, the lack of suds in the soap option, and the absence of a high-pressure option. They also noted the minimal soap from the brush and the resulting spots on the car after rinsing. While acknowledging that one dollar provides three minutes of wash time, they questioned the benefit of "3 minutes of nothing" and stated they do not recommend the place, suggesting it "Needs major updates."
Another customer, a frequent user who previously recommended the car wash, reported a negative experience involving the owner. When a fuse disabled their friend's car in the vacuum area, the owner was described as "more belligerent than patient." Despite the customer's efforts as a mechanic to resolve the issue and move the car, the owner's behavior was deemed unhelpful.
These reviews indicate that Howard's Coin-Op Car Wash has significant issues with equipment maintenance, soap quality, and customer service. Potential customers should be aware of the risk of encountering malfunctioning equipment, poor soap quality, and unhelpful management.

I use a lot of “dollar” wash faces facilities because I don’t like the drive thru car washes at the gas stations and usually don’t have time for a full wash at a hand wash location. Plus it’s usually cheaper overall. That being said, I’d consider myself rather well experienced in this field. This particular location was disappointing to say the least. For starters, the dispenser gives you tokens mixed with quarters. Why??? I used the soap option for the sprayer and I didn’t see a lick of suds anywhere. There also was no high pressure option either which is essential for these type of washers. That left me with only being able to use the brush to clean my car with soap. Well, if you know anything about these places, you know that you do NOT want to use that brush on your car if you like your paint. On top of that, the soap from the brush was minimal as well. Finally, I rinsed the car off (with no high pressure option as well), only to find that I had spots everywhere. Only benefit to this place is that one dollar gave me 3 minutes, but what’s the benefit of 3 minutes of nothing?? I don’t recommend this place at all. Needs major updates

I frequently wash all of my cars here and refer this car wash to everyone that I know. That is until last monday when one of my best friends and I washed our cars there. Unfortunately a fuse had disabled my friends car in the vacuum area and the owner was more belligerent than patient about it. Even tho I (a mechanic) was doing everything I know how to in order to atleast get my friends car to a friendlier location so I can make the repair in peace.

Buck fifty for a soap brush cycle, then a buck fifty for a power rinse. Three-dollar car wash.

Oh yeah this is the best car wash in City if you go out for 11 $1 will get you 5 minutes on the wash so you put $3 in the machine you should have more than enough time to wash rinse wax spot for you on the spot free rent as well as use the brush if you're having trouble with their vending machine when you go get some Armor All or some Rags just get somebody to help you push it if you're not strong enough but you shake It Rock it back and forth and it'll just fall. Other than that people mind their own business and say no loud music but go ahead and play yours if you want to but from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. $1 wash 5 minutes can't beat it I'll power washers and dryers all that

I don’t know why it’s 4 stars. I get that it’s cheap all the time, but it’s very bare bones and not very good water pressure. The machine on the right was extra weak so I switched to another stall. The prewash doesn’t seem to do much as it drains right off, it should be a foamy clingy soap. There is no spot free rinse and the machines take quarters only, so you have to use the change machine a lot. $1 for 3 minutes
