Mission Car Wash

Update 11/6/24 Still my go to car wash especially during lunch breaks where I can eat next door while I wait, but today they surprised me with it an extra level of service. I always eat next door and the guys usually know my car and hold it for me. I usually keep one eye out the window to make sure they don’t wait too long or block a lane, but this time the cashier told me not to worry and eat at my leisure and they would tell the guys to hold my car. Didn’t even think to do that in the past, but what an added convenience. Car wash and service in general is always great, but love added levels of service which earn them (any car wash really) my first 5 star review. ———— My local go to for a car wash. Why more car washes don’t have a restaurant attached or near by is beyond me. Makes it so convenient to stop by and have lunch (at Tia Gladys next door) while your car is getting washed. Not sure it stands out as a stand alone car wash, since service and cleanliness is hit and miss, but as a convenience, it works for me.

I have been going to Mission Car Wash for the last 15 years. Good core of dedicated staff. With that said, their attention to detail while cleaning cars has dropped. Also, there is a lack of urgency. It is unfortunate, as this business has a historical presence in the community. They seem to be understaffed. On 2 separate occasions, my car sat for 30 minutes, air drying after the wash until someone finally worked on my car. On top of this, the cost to wash a car increased significantly due to labor rate increases. It's too bad. Hopefully, they can turn things around. In the meantime, I will be looking for another car wash who could work on their fundamentals.

I went on a Wednesday morning, so they weren't busy. The front sales guy will try to upsell you as much as he can, even lie to you. The first time my car went through the car wash and the washers neglected my roof. The guy said I needed a $60 or $80 wax job to take off the dirt and make it clean. I said no I just need another run through the washer; I argued with him until he stopped trying to upsell me with nonsense, then brought my car back into the washer conveyor. Maybe they purposely didn't scrub the top of my small sedan to try to upsell later when I inspect their work. Sadly, this is the best hand carwash place from what I can tell. Thankfully I have a garden hose again. Aside from the sales guy at the line, everything else is pretty decent. The young guys are slack on their vacuuming job. The older Asian lady tries to do a thorough vacuuming job compared to the younger dudes, so I tipped her. I literally had to get the vacuum on the young guy's side to re-vacuum lol like don't give me that look, I'm cleaning up the mess I'm paying you to clean while you move on to work on the next car. I'm buying a Dyson and shop VAC soon :/ The regular Xpress wash prices are good. Some of the prices on other stuff can be outrageous. I paid for the gold wash but didn't get all the services listed on the sign. Where's my alleged cabin air freshener, and no sales receipt?

My car is a black SUV. It's still dirty after the car wash. I paid $50 for one and thought my car would be clean( by the way my car is 2023). I’m very disappointed. Not recommended if you have a black car

Slow and over priced. Paid for their cheapest plan, $29.95 Bronze (including car wash, sealer wax and air freshener). Watched the car went through the machine tunnel (same as the $6 machine wash that you can find at gas stations). And then they parked it all the way in the back with another black color truck for 40 mins. No workers wanted to go there to wipe the remaining water and bubbles off (It’s a big truck and workers seems to pick small cars first and hope other coworkers can go do the trucks). I almost wanted to do it myself so I can leave. Eventually waited for 60 mins for a simple car wash. 40 mins the car was just sitting there waiting to be wiped. Nothing fancy, way too slow, over priced. At the end, an elderly man went to my truck and finished the job. We felt bad for him. Gave him $10 tip and really appreciated his honest work ethics. Nowadays, it’s amazing to just see people doing their jobs.
