Well had my last visit to Russell Fischer Car Wash in San Clemente today. I arrived mid morning and I was the only car there to be washed. I went in to pay and was really surprised at the $48.95 charge. Wow! I then went to the waiting area and waited and waited. It was 22 minutes later that my car appeared from the wash tunnel. Again, I was the only one there !!! There were 7 guys standing around when my car was ready to be dried. 1 guy proceeded to dry and finish my car. Absolutely unbelievable.

This place has increased their prices tremendously. They used to offer more for less. Today they charge you for every little thing. I paid $140 for a wash and wax. Something that used to cost $60-80. And on top of that, they don't even wax the whole car. They don't wax the headlights, taillights and windows. Living by the ocean, you get salt, sometimes acid rain, lots of sun and sometimes water from sprinklers. The only way to prevent oxidation on headlights and stains on windows is by protecting them with a wax or sealant. The Manager was arguing with me on this and telling me it's not needed. And instead of listening to me and giving me what I want, he was trying to sell me a clay and wax which is more money and more time. My car didn't need clayed; just wax. I clay my car twice a year. It's not needed more than that especially if I wash my car every 2 weeks and wax my car every 1-2 months. The workers work hard and do a good job, but the sales people and managers you deal with in the beginning when you 1st drop off the car are sleezy sales people trying to upsell you on every little thing.

Came on a Friday when it wasn’t too crowded. Had solid service and the wash was good. Driving from AZ, the bugs on the grill were baked on there. I watched the Russels crew give the attention to detail needed to thoroughly remove them and any other residue, ha. I’ll certainly be back.

I want to love Russell’s but this place is hit or miss at best. Last time I came, my car looked phenomenal. But I went for a Gold Wash this morning and I’m going to have to go vacuum and wipe out my car again, which I shouldn’t have to do after just paying $40. I was the 3rd person in line at 8am, but was the 7th person to get my car out of the wash (my guess is because I bought the bottom tier and they go off of that not time of arrival) so overall it took 45 min and I still have to go to another car wash to get the things that were missed. Very disappointed with the entire experience.

Please take your car anywhere else, just spent 69.99 for wash, wax, and detail and my car is still dirty and the the interior wasn't wiped down.
