Self Service Car Wash

As a guy who has been to and experienced many many many car washes over the years I can say this this wash did not leave me very well impressed. I attached photos taken on a Lumix 4K camera for the best detailed visuals I can give. Cons: 1. Chemicals very low or completely empty - Both The high and low pressure presoak was nothing but water. The tire cleaner & the "Triple" foam polish had barely any pressure to it (just enough to apply a half decent coating at best). I can attest that these are simple fixes as I currently work for an express car wash and it tends to be very simple to order them & refill. As for the pressure issue on the tri foam gun, that may be a more complicated issue to handle but can still be done if management cared enough. 2. Token Dispenser / Bill Changer In Poor condition - The bill changer clearly has a label that it Accepts $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. But after going to the nearest ATM (citibank right around the corner) and pulling a $20 (that's the lowest bill it could provide) the $20 did not accept no matter how I inserted it. The person behind me put a $1 bill in and it worked. I went inside the on site drive thru convenience store to see if they had change for a $20. The very nice cashier gave me $5 bills. I didn't realize at first that the store was affiliated with the wash and he gave me tokens inside. Nonetheless, directions are very unclear and inaccurate. A simple paper sign laminated would've been useful as opposed to customers having to guess their way thru the process. I would honestly suggest that they do a credit card reader upgrade. That is possible as I've seen other self serve washes convert their payment/control terminals to add that feature. (Shell/Valvoline Rapid Lube in Yucaipa is a prime example) 3. Property maintenance is bad on a lot of levels, and cleanliness is rather gross and unsanitary - as seen in the photos I attached, no one seems to routinely sweep the wash bays not to mention clean them or make them look nice. Trash left, walls covered in all kinds of dirt, gunk, and who knows what else. Signage is torn and ripped, and barely legible. (Adding to the confusion of how to use and pay for the services as I mentioned before). Again speaking from experience this is a very simple issue to fix if the care is there. 4. Pricing is rather high and not worth the value - given the amount of time you get for one token, the qaulity of this wash does not match the price or make it worth it. Especially when you add in the amount of problematic and serious issues mentioned and very obvious in the photos. I do understand chemical prices are high but if they are basicly non existent you cannot use that as a legitimate excuse. 5. Leaking Hoses & Nozzles - There is a major obvious issue with leaking hoses. The bay i used had 3 major leaks visible: the roof lines leak pretty badly (dripping mostly non spot free water onto vehicles), the pressurized water/soap/wax nozzle leaks significantly when it shouldn't, and my least favorite leak was with the triple foam gun. The connection with the nozzle and hose line is so bad that I get the chemical all over my hand as it is very insecure and seems very unsanitary. Pros: 1. Spot Free Water seems very effective - First of all, there is a major misconception in the understanding of spot free water. You dont necessarily have to hand dry a vehicle in a self serve wash that has *effective* spot free water, although it is recommended to towel dry, a vehicle with a heavy and complete spot free water coating should air dry with no evidence it was ever wet so long as the water is treated correctly. In my case the car dried with no noticeable spotting which was surprising to me given how many other chemicals were not functioning. One point for that. 2. Customer service was polite, professional, and met expectations - the cashier who gave me my change and helped me out performed exactly as an good employee should. Did what he could to assist my issue. Props to the staff here. Side note: I did inform them about chemical issues.

It's hard to beat a car wash for $1. Yes that's correct, one dollar! Of course you'll need a few more dollars if you wish to clean your car fully. But for a quick rinse off, hard to beat! They have vaccums too for same price. Only two wash bays so you might wait but can't have it all.

I enjoy going to this self service car wash it's in a good area so I feel comfortable cleaning my car day or night. Its inexpensive only a dollar a token for 2 minutes wash or vaccum I can usually get away with only spending $3.00 for either or... spending only 5 or 6 dollars total.

Convenient self serve car wash here in Redlands. I paid $5 for 10 minutes of time which was a good price for a sufficient amount of time. They have a coin machine that turns cash into nonrefundable car wash tokens. Apparently, you can also use a credit card to get car wash tokens in the Redlands Drive-Thru Dairy next door when it's open.
