The Stop & Shop in Winsted is the only one I know of in many towns around me that offers a gas station. It's a big covered space with maybe ten pumps and offers three octanes of unleaded. There is a booth to give the attendant cash or you can use your credit or debit card. Most people gassing up here use the gas reward points they accrue from each grocery shopping bill in the Superstore on the lot for a discount on the current price per gallon. I liked when the gas rewards automatically went to one's Stop and Shop card. Now customers have to go online to the store website first and elect to use the points towards gasoline (instead of cash for food) before a reduction will be shown for fuel after scanning the store card. I'm not sure how people use their points if they don't have a computer or access to the Internet. Perhaps the customer service desk does this for people. It adds up if you shop for food often and makes a difference in how much you'll pay fueling up.

This was better than getting gas due to dietary issues. There was nothing special about this station, other than it was the closet one to me when I realized that I needed to get more full for my self-contained transportomobile. All in all, I really just hate the Stop & Shop company, and everything they stand for.
