Gulf Gas Station Introduce
Gulf Gas Station is a full-service gas station conveniently located in Astoria, New York. Situated near major public transportation hubs and key highways, it offers easy access for both locals and travelers. The station provides a range of services including fueling options (regular, plus, and premium), convenience store items, and other essential amenities for drivers.
Known for its full-service approach, Gulf Gas Station stands out in a market where self-service is common. Customers can expect attentive service from attendants who are ready to assist with refueling and other needs. However, recent customer reviews have raised concerns about potential fraudulent activities involving credit card handling. Users are advised to exercise caution when allowing attendants to handle payment methods and to monitor transactions carefully.
Customer feedback has highlighted both positive and negative experiences. While some appreciate the convenience of full-service gas stations in NYC, others have reported unusual practices such as claims of being out of regular fuel even when pumps indicate otherwise, and attempts to upsell services. One customer shared an experience where a $125 unauthorized transaction was attempted after using their card at the station, leading them to cancel their card immediately.
Given these reports, Gulf Gas Station has drawn mixed reviews. While some visitors find it convenient, others caution against allowing attendants to handle payment cards and recommend double-checking transactions before completing them. Users are encouraged to remain vigilant and consider alternative stations if they notice red flags during their visit.

SCAM ALERT! They have a "gas pump attendant" which is kind of odd for NYC bc it's not required (first red flag). I told the guy I didn't have cash to tip and kindly said not a problem but proceeded to assist me. He then asked if I wanted "regular or super" and I said regular and then he says "oh, we are out of regular" (second red flag). I was on empty and had no other options at this point. So I then asked to just go up to $10. He asked for my card, and I'm watching him the whole time, he added $10 to the machine, but then turned to ask me for my pin number (third red flag) and I firmly said I was not giving him my pin, and he said no problem, you can enter it yourself. At this point 2 other cars rolled up and he went to assist them so I just carried on by myself. As I'm entering my pin and zip I hear him go through the same conversation to the next customer, "regular or super?" "Oh we are out of regular"(fourth red flag). Once my payment is entered the 3 fuel buttons light up.... almost as if they aren't sold out of anything. The options were regular, plus and premium, no super. So I selected plus and just before I began filling, the attendant came over and became very upset that I didn't select premium (idk what red flag we are at now). I told him there was no "super" so I selected plus and he proceeded to argue with me about my selection and made it seem like the pump would not work? Low and behold, gas was coming out. Then he tells me that "plus" is regular and premium mixed together so I was just getting premium since they were "out of regular." Red flag red flag red flag! As I'm finishing up and he walks away I knew what his scam was, and luckily I only paid $10. Plot twist! As I'm driving home reflecting on all of this I had a really weird feeling about my pin and debit card. I usually don't provide my pin and I didn't have a cc with me. So I called my bank on my drive home to check on new purchases and what do you know? There's not only a $10 approved purchase with gulf gas Co, but a $125 pending purchase as well!! I swiftly canceled my card and or the ordered a new one. Do not let someone pump your gas for you in NYC. Or don't let them handle your cc. If they are out of something, try to find another station if you can.

Full service gas station. Feb 13th, 2025 attendant took my AMEX to start the pump, asked me my zip code and entered it into the pump. 20 minutes after getting gas, AMEX alerted me someone was trying to add my AMEX to their Apple Pay. It was the only time I had used my card that morning or the day before. Coincidence? I had to shut my card off in the middle of my trip and they are sending me a replacement.

Stay away—this is not an honest mechanic. I took my partner’s car for a simple state inspection. The mechanic failed the car for rear breaks and was asking for $420 to fix it. We took it to another mechanic, and he told us, “Everything looks fine; he probably needed more work and lied to you.”

As others have said in the reviews. The guy who pumps the gas is a thief. I was just above E, and I only wanted a few gallons as I’m going to be selling the vehicle and I just wanted enough to move it for street sweeping. Well, when I pulled away I noticed the needle hadn’t moved at all. I went to another station and pumped my own and the needle instantly works. So I went back to complain, but of course he denied it.

Wasted 40$ on an inspection here. They told me I needed 600+$ worth of work done to pass inspection. Told me my rear brakes needed replacement. (I got my rear brakes done a year ago and they work fine). Went to another garage for reinspection and they charged me 80$ including reinspection. This place didn't even notice my headlight was out. Don't use them unless you want to get ripped off.
