Great sandwiches and chili. Gas prices usually a few cents more than CT average but much better than Shell up the street. Employees always nice.

I have not been to this establishment in over three years and things have changed. Prior experience prompted me to go again. The young lady with glasses and curly hair (needs training on customer service and food handling ). I ordered a grinder; She walked past the sink and put on gloves. She made the sandwich and did not add everything I asked for. When I asked to speak to the owner, and informed him on what took place his response was “she wore gloves right, she didn’t touch your food”. I said “she just handled money and walked right by the sink, that is not how you handle food and based off your response , I see where the habit developed. I won’t be eating this sandwich and I will not be returning. I see they have pretty high reviews, which is understandable if you attend in the morning. I have never had an issue then.

Ah best buttered roll and meats looked delicious,but we were in a rush to go home to Lincoln. Definitely worth a visir.

We were traveling from out of state and stopped here for gas and thought, perfect, there is a deli where we can get food. As I approached the hot food/deli counter, a tall young man with long brown, almost shoulder length hair asked if I needed anything. I told him that I was still looking at the menu. He proceeded to eat French fries out of the hot pan right in front of me with his bare hands. He also did not have gloves or something for his hair to even be preparing food. Unreal. We didn’t get any food there to say the least! Oh, and If you’re thinking about getting soup, well, you can forget it. Don’t let the soup of the day signs outside written in fresh chalk fool you, or the inside soup signs because apparently they don’t sell soup in the summer they say. It’s too hot.
