Speedway Introduce

Welcome to the Speedway gas station, located at 8 E Weis St, Topton, PA 19562, USA. As a "Nearby Gas Stations" platform entry, Speedway provides 24-hour fueling services and a convenience store.

You can contact them at (610) 682-6759 or +1 610-682-6759.

Customer reviews indicate a mixed experience at this location. While many employees are described as wonderful, there are serious concerns regarding the behavior of at least one older employee. Multiple reviewers described encounters that they perceived as racially biased, including an incident involving a refusal to sell tobacco to a 41-year-old woman and her black boyfriend. The employee involved reportedly called the police on them, and also gave a hard time to a black Amazon worker. Reviews state that the police officers on the scene were confused by the employees actions.

The station is open 24 hours and offers a public restroom that customers report is consistently clean. They offer standard gas station amenities, and a convenience store inside. However, one review noted a lack of readily available hot food items.

Due to the reported customer service issues, including accusations of racial bias, potential customers may want to consider nearby alternatives, such as the Rutter's located at Rt 222 (Kutztown Rd) & Long Ln, across from Burger King, which has been highlighted for its diverse workforce and food-to-order options. However this speedway location is open 24 hours and has a clean restroom.

Most employees are absolutely wonderful.. until you have an encounter with one of their racist older employees. This time it was the old guy working in the evening. He refused to sell tobacco to a 41-year old woman without her ID, even though he's waited on her numerous times. That's fine. That's Speedway policy, whenever they rarely decide to enforce it. So the woman's 41-year old black boyfriend goes inside with his ID to get the tobacco they both share anyway. He was refused the sale because it was a "third party sale". Um, not if he uses the tobacco product, but whatever. The woman goes home, grabs her ID, and they return 5 min later. As soon as they walk in, both with IDs in hand, the Speedway employee yells at them to get out, pointing to the door and causing a scene in front of other customers in the store. What?! The employee refused the sale (wouldn't even look at the ID) and proceeded to immediately CALL THE POLICE! You cannot make this up. The black male left (ya know.. not safe for a black man to have the police called on them for no reason nowadays) while the woman waited for the police. As soon as the black man left, the employee didn't say a single word to the white woman still waiting in the store. Apparently he only shouts at the black people in the store to get out. When the police arrived, they were confused by the employee's actions, from refusing the sale to the 41 year olds with valid IDs, to immediately calling the POLICE, to his response to the police questions. (When he called the police, they assumed it was a teenager or something since he said a young girl was trying to get someone else to buy tobacco for her. Yeah.. a 41 year old with grey hair and a bum knee is a young girl apparently.) According to what he told police, it is store policy that he couldn't sell to the 41-year old woman (the original purchaser who came back with her ID) until after a waiting period because she tried to get someone else to buy it for her. When the officers asked how long this "waiting period" was, the employee said until tomorrow. Even both police officers thought the entire situation was confusing and a ridiculous waste of everyone's time, and said they wanted to return at a later date and ask a manager what their actual policy is because the employee was clearly making things up as he went. While it may not especially sound as if it was a racial issue, the way the employee treated the only other black man in the store after he called the police cements it otherwise in my mind. A young, black Amazon worker purchasing snacks asked the employee for 2 plastic bags and the employee gave him a hard time about it. The customer asked the employee what his problem was, but the employee seriously lacks customer service skills and ignored him. The Amazon worker then proceeded to tell the employee that if he hates his job, he should just find a new one and that he can't just treat people this way. The entire situation was mind-boggling. Who calls the police on 41-year olds with grey hair and valid IDs trying to buy their own tobacco products?! It even sounds outrageous writing it... Speedway needs to do better. If you're looking for a convenience store, they opened a Rutter's not too far away at Rt 222 (Kutztown Rd) & Long Ln, across from Burger King. They actually have a diverse workforce. They also make food to order, while this Speedway hardly has ready-made food options available.

They are open 24 hrs. They have a public restroom. Always clean, workers are friendly, never had an issue waiting on a gas pump. Plenty of parking on the side. Full convenience store inside with hot food items readily available

I specifically asked for a certain nicotine product that I buy every time I’m at speedway. The cashier charged me for the wrong product and then told me it was my fault. I used to stop in for all of my gas and nicotine products because the staff was always so great but after the way I was talked to I will never shop at another speedway again. Good riddance.

I attempted to redeem my gas points today but had to jump through many hoops to do it. In the end, the store computer wouldn't interface with the app that I had to download, so I was unable to get the gas card that I had earned. A perfect example of a company promising rewards but making it virtually impossible to redeem them.
