Racist Encounter at This Location – Stay Away! Stopped here while traveling from NYC to charge our car, and my experience was beyond disappointing – it was flat-out racist. I went inside to get a hot dog, but the sign kept saying "not ready to be served" for a while. I politely asked an older lady with glasses if they were ready or still cooking, and she had the nerve to tell her coworkers, “These people can’t read.” Things only got worse. After grabbing chips and water, we paid, but this same lady came to our table with an attitude, questioning us as if we were thieves, asking if we paid. I could tell by her hostility that this was racially motivated, but I stayed calm. Later, when the hot dogs were finally ready, we got one and paid again – but this time, another employee rang us up, not her. As we were leaving, she screamed at us, accusing us of not paying, in the nastiest tone you can imagine. When I responded that she was just assuming things, her coworker finally corrected her, telling her that he was the one who processed our payment. This was a disgusting, overt display of racism. This lady acted hostile from the moment we walked in, targeting us for no reason other than her prejudiced assumptions. This was our first time in this town, and it left a sour taste in our mouths. If you’re considering stopping here, beware of the racist behavior from this woman. I hope management steps in to address this blatant racism.

Came here to charge our Tesla on the way to the mountains from NYC and decided to go in and quickly grab some snacks and drinks, however we were really shocked with how the staff behaved. We paid for our snacks and asked a simple question about the hotdogs, to see if they were ready and the old lady rudely brushed us off and went to pick the signs up from the steamer saying “apparently people can’t read”. Then we saw a gentleman prep a hotdog and leave with it so we went to get our own, while my sister was making the hotdogs and I was on the line to pay for them, the same lady rudely asked her if we paid for it and my sister told her I was on the line. Once I had done paying and we started eating, both of the staff were constantly making rude remarks throughout the whole time and as we were leaving the store one of them yelled at us saying “you gotta pay for them”, embarrassing us in front of of her people, even though she herself took the payment. After we told her that we paid and the other staff (who didn’t even take the payment) confirmed, she said in a sarcastic tone “okay GREAT” Living in NYC, interacting with people from different backgrounds, I never personally encountered such rudeness and meaninglessness hatred for people. I don’t wanna have to say they were being racist, but what other conclusion can one come to?

Stopped by to use the Tesla supercharger. There are about 8 stalls of which three were open. I was at about 10% capacity, plugged in and finished in about 30 minutes to 80% c. 57kWh. The one bathroom in Stewarts was clean. Picked up a couple of drinks. When the one counter person was helping with a ice cream order, the other staff member stopped what they were doing and helped the next person in line to keep the line moving.

I hate to leave negative reviews (my two stars are for the lovely staff we’ve encountered here many time).. I give A 0 stars however for the disgusting bathrooms… we stop by here often to make use of the Tesla chargers, sure given these chargers are there (and always fairly in use) you are getting even more clientele and this it would make sense to keep things much tidier. Today the wash room (which I had no other option but to use) was so filthy I deemed it too dirty to even touch the faucet rap to wash hands- I came outside to my car and used a bottle of water and soap I had on hand. This is not a one off and I see other reviews saying similar, it’s unhygienic and definitely not what we see in other frequented Stewart’s. To be honest the knowledge that the bathrooms are so filthy is also a big deterrent for Is to even contemplate buying and consuming food prepared there… strongly suggest someone get this sorted.

I’m giving the place four stars, however my Spidey senses are tingling because there’s spiders all over the gas pumps! Send Maintenance with a power washer, and some sort of spray that repels them, It’s ridiculous. Other than that it’s all good since they got rid of that snooty young girl that had anger management issues. Oh, and by the way you need to bring back the turkey sausage and egg sandwich. I’m allergic to pork.
