Sunoco Introduce

The Sunoco gas station is located at NJ Tpke MP 71.7 S, Cranbury, NJ 08512, serving local users, primarily travelers on the New Jersey Turnpike, within the 'Nearby Gas Stations' category. You can contact them at (609) 395-6704 or +1 609-395-6704.

Based on customer reviews, this Sunoco station has received mixed feedback. Some customers have expressed concerns about the station's card handling procedures. However, one individual, after speaking with an attendant, provided explanations for these procedures. The attendant clarified that credit cards are left in the machine and attendant cards are used to activate pumps due to frequent robberies and instances of customers leaving without paying. This practice is also used to prevent losses that employees would have to cover themselves.

The attendant also emphasized the low wages and challenging working conditions, highlighting the importance of tips. They explained that the station operates with specific rules: all customers must face south, use the first available pump, and follow attendant instructions. They also stated the attendants are trying to provide the best service possible, but are sometimes short-staffed.

However, another customer reported a language barrier issue with an attendant who could not understand a card error message, leading to a frustrating experience.

The station provides standard fuel services for turnpike travelers. Customer feedback highlights concerns about card handling and language barriers, but also provides explanations and insights into the station's operations.

In summary, this Sunoco gas station offers:

  • Fuel services for NJ Turnpike travelers
  • Specific card handling procedures due to security concerns
  • Low employee wages and challenging working conditions
  • Specific rules for customer behavior at the station
  • Potential language barrier issues with some attendants

Potential customers should be aware of the station's specific rules and card handling procedures. While there are concerns about language barriers, the attendants are reported to be trying to provide a good service.

Customer Reviews

When I see the reviews to this place I scare. When I pass for there I ask some questions to one the attendants over there he really nice and answer to me. 1. Why they keep the cards? He explain to me the don’t keep the credit cards in the hand they left the card in the machine they used attendant cards to open the pump because they get robbed a lot times some people say pay cash they left don’t pay company sometimes the people work there has to pay that. That’s why for them it’s very important get some tips. The pay for employees it’s the minimum at the low. They have to work in snow, rain, hot or any kind the weather. So next time when you see they pump you gas think in that they try do the best for customers. But sometimes they short staff, they can’t do to much with the pumps just wait. They deal with all can the customers. nice and people really hard. At that location is some rules the customer has to follow All customers has to be facing south way. All customers they see the first pump in the front open go there. Follow the instructions the attendant give you. And try get nice time there. The attendants only want you get the best time there.

Attendant needs to be trained to understand English and communicate better. The pump gave a message that his card was not read and he couldn’t understand that. Kept saying that I have no money in the card and started screaming while I left.

Never had a problem getting my tank filled til today. I see the employee manhandling my gas cap to get it to open. I’m confused since my cap opens easily with a simple twist. When it’s time to close it, suddenly the cap can’t be closed unless you push hard and twist it a bunch of times. ITS SUPPOSED TO CLOSE WITH TWO TWISTS. The employee immediately gets defensive saying it was already like that. I pumped gas the day before with no problem. I go to the manager to see what can be done to fix this but he’s just as useless. Only thing he can say is “it still closes right”.
