Based on customer reviews, this Valero location has received mixed feedback, with positive comments about the staff and coffee, and negative comments about a rude cashier and payment issues.

One customer praised the "Nice station," "friendly" staff, and "great coffee." They also highlighted the convenience of its location.

However, another customer reported a negative experience with a "VERY RUDE MALE CASHIER" who "wouldn’t allow" them to use their Capital One bank card and falsely claimed they "COULD NOT USE MY APPLE PAY" despite a "Sign said tap & pay." The customer chose to leave and spend their money elsewhere.

These reviews highlight a disparity in customer experiences, with positive feedback regarding general staff friendliness and negative feedback regarding the behavior of a specific cashier and potential payment issues.

It is reasonable to assume that Valero provides standard gas station services, including:

  • Fuel (various grades of gasoline)
  • Convenience store items (including coffee)

Potential customers should be aware of the mixed reviews before visiting this Valero location in Patchogue, NY. While the station is praised for its friendly staff and good coffee, the reported incident with the rude cashier and potential payment issues are concerns. Customers may want to be prepared for potential payment difficulties and be mindful of cashier behavior.

I was going to give it 3 stars, but then I read the other two reviews and thought this gas station folks need some boost. I had somewhat similar issue with credit card transaction at the pump and then I called the station. They explained, that the cards companies put a 24hr hold on the card till the transaction goes through and 24hr later it was all good. Sometimes you just need to be patient and honest, with the reviews. It’s a nonsense to think they scoop $100 from every card holder. That will put them out of business in no time. Plus the legality. So, be calm, relax and let them pump your gas.

Please be aware. I went to this gas station and paid with a credit card to have my tank filled with regular gas. After leaving, I forgot to ask for a receipt. I left and pulled my Jeep over to answer a phone call. My credit card receipt appeared on my phone. I was charged $100 and I also saw that my tank was only filled to 3/4. That was $25 more than ANY time I have paid for a FULL tank. I turned the car around and went back. I spoke to a cashier inside the minimart and asked for my receipt. He claimed it could not be retrieved. He called in the man that put the gas in my car and he said he can’t speak English. Needless to say, something very illegal occurred and I am unable to even see a receipt. Please avoid this gas station.

Same thing happened to me as Angela review. today as soon as I pulled away and started driving I received notification I have been charged 100.00 when I only had him put 20.00 and had half a tank. He pretends he doesn’t understand English. I reported him to my bank as fraud and it’s being investigated
